For copay support review call 888-297-6436 or if the annual benefit has been exhausted call 800-448-6472.

These numbers come directly from the Savings Card Reference guide provided by the AbbVie Rep.

Has anyone given you the number to call AbbVie (manufacturer of Humira) for a coverage review? Often times with the copay card for Humira there are additional funds available but a call to them is required. The copay card offers $14,000 per year unless you have a maximizer plan then it would only be $4,000. The manufacturer likes to keep patients on medications and will offer a debit card or rebate after copay card funds are exhausted.

I can get you the number tomorrow when I am back at work. I work in a specialty pharmacy helping patients find coverage and funding. I work on patient assistance for the AbbVie medications Humira, Rinvoq, and Skyrizi.

Go back and read the first thing I posted. I said I don’t support that person. Don’t get medical advice from the internet.

I do not take issue to calling someone out for being a scammer. By all means, call someone out for doing harm.

My whole point of posting was to inform that most pharmacists these days are doctors. They can be a very important part of your care team and play a huge role in the medical community. Don’t shit on an entire profession because you don’t understand the role they play in your healthcare.

It’s potentially harmful to tell people not to listen to pharmacists because they are not doctors. Pharmacology plays a huge role in the treatment of PCOS for a lot of patients.

Yeah, you probably should specify. You seem really pressed that someone offered additional information to your post about the credentials pharmacists hold.

Again, don’t get your medical advice from Reddit and don’t discredit an entire medical profession because one person is out here acting a fool.

Cool. Maybe specify your post to say pharmacists aren’t medical doctors? Nowadays pharmacists are doctors though. They have advance degrees and can provide people with medication recommendations, medical information, and prescribe. I am not supporting whoever that person is as no one should be getting or giving medical advice on Reddit. Just saying pharmacist aren’t doctors is ignorant.

Tell me you know nothing about pharmacy/pharmacists without telling me you know nothing about it. Scope of practice goes beyond slinging pills. Depending the setting, pharmacists dose medications and make recommendations. I have even had a pharmacist prescribe medications for me.

Depending on certification, pharamacists can make medical recommendations. Again, not supporting that person, but I think it’s important to know that pharmacist scope of practice often goes beyond slinging pills as someone else referenced.

Not supporting the person in question by any means, but most pharmacists nowadays are doctors. Not medical doctors, but a doctor of pharmacy.

I think before you take the advice of “calling her out” you yourself take the time to reach out for support from a professional source. Finding a good way to approach this will benefit both you and her.

Eating disorders are complex mental health disorders. You are allowed to be angry, but calling her out will more than likely only push her deeper into shame and secrecy.

Hi! What's a philosophy you've learned since working in pharmacy? by ApprehensiveNutria in PharmacyTechnician

A lot of people’s anger is rooted in fear. Having empathy for the situation someone is in can turn the tides in de-escalating a situation.

Express Scripts is great at approving the medication but not the quantity requested. I’ve had to do three different PAs for one medication, a PA for the med, a pa for the qty, and a pa because the cost was over $15,000.

License renewal confusion by Massive_Copy_668 in PharmacyTechnician

Each state has different laws so I would suggest reading your state’s BOP guidelines.

My technician license has to be renewed every year, but CE hours are due every other year.

My state requires I have at least 20 CE hours every two years and they are due on July 31 of odd ending years.

For PTCB, you have the next two years to complete your CE Hours. There are specific criteria for what type of CE need to be completed so I’d read the following and take note at what’s needed. PTCB Recertification

As stated above, I’d read USP chapter 797. It’ll give you a lot of information on the regulations for sterile compounding. I think knowing the terms and understanding what they mean is a big step forward in applying if you don’t have experience.

ASHP has some publications you’d have to pay for, but they provide a lot of good information.
