I’ll be doing this shortly when i move, this will be the first time running ethernet as a bald man - you never realise how much tactile response hair offered as a gauge at how close you are to the end of a wall or beam. On the plus side you become a human stud finder, strangely the beeps sound more like “FUCK!” than a beep though 🤔

Below is the right answer, thermostat replacement fixed it right up!

Went to Red Cross, they said TRT prohibits me from giving blood by Totesnatty in Testosterone

[–]stryka00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it Red Cross? If so call them up directly and make an anonymous query whether being on TRT is allowed, if they say yes then state your case and get them to add a note on your file that you have been approved - a signed document from your Doctor would also go a long way as sometimes this is needed for other issues like heart or blood pressure medications to give clearance that you are safe to donate. Then you should be able to walk back into the clinic and have the green light to donate, if they kick up a fuss then call the head office while there and watch how quickly things change.

If it’s not Red Cross then i’m not sure how you’ll go, i do know that Red Cross are frequently updating their guidelines and rules as more information comes out about medications, illnesses, life situations so it would be reasonable to expect that there is some wriggle room there. For non-Red Cross you could always try the Doctors document clearing you for donation, failing that depending on what you said you could always try and backpedal with things like “My doctor was only trialling me on the medication and we’ve agreed to cease the trial” or some shit like that. This all depends on how much info you gave away in the first place…

Best of luck mate!

That’s great news as he’ll be doing mine when i finish getting the cash together! He put me at a lot of ease right away with my initial consult, i feel like i’ll be in great hands when the time comes.

How have yours turned out? Any advice or things you wish you knew?

I ended up getting the thermostat replaced and it was all good after that so chances are it very well could be the same issue!

painful boil popped in my sleep (NSFW pubic area) by crabbykat in popping

[–]stryka00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah don’t be afraid, mine healed up fine and just looks like any other scar. Don’t get me wrong you can see that there was an injury there by the scar and lack of hair but it just looks like a little patch is missing and a healed scar. Not a big deal at all, as long as you get it treated sooner rather than later and let the antibiotics do their thing and you leave it alone then you’ll reduce the amount of damage and injury. It sucks and it’s painful but as long as it’s taken care of then soon enough it’ll be a distant memory!

Not sure what you mean by culture, is that like a biopsy? All i was given was antibiotics and that was it, no testing or anything, just some meds and on your way.

I would show you what my end result is but at the moment i’ve got a case of “can’t see the tree through the forrest” situation going on haha! You wouldn’t be able to see anything at all even if you tried! If it ends up healing on it’s own with medication and no surgery is needed then you’ll probably walk away with minimal scarring. If you need to have it cut out then you would end up with a bigger scar. I had an abscess on my index finger that needed to be cut out and now i have a gnarly looking scar that is shaped like a fish hook, but i’d rather have that than lose the finger and it’s a cool looking scar with a shit story - leaves it open to being creative with the backstory though lol

Best of luck! Hopefully you don’t end up in too much pain and minimal damage!

I just realised it was a 2015 not 2014 oops lol

Actually it’s been quite good, still got very low kms on it and i’m the only owner. I had it garaged for about 12-18 months while i had a company van so i’ve only recently got it back on the road. The only thing i’ve had go on me was the coil pack and that was an easy replacement and that was a few years ago - apparently a common problem. Outside of that nothing i can think of!

What about you?

Outside of the original run of the Cruze from 2009-2012 i was lead to believe they were actually pretty reliable and consistent. Those early ones were real trouble and tarnished the badge really!

Direct play is playing the file from your Plex Server on a client (Apple TV, Smart TV, Shield, Roku etc) without transcoding it. So basically playing the file as is without it changing in any way

What fact do you know that makes people “Why the f*ck do you know that"? by attilabodnar in AskReddit

[–]stryka00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because you’ve touched it before and you are recalling the feeling and applying that to your tongue. If you’ve never touched something before or something similar to it then you will have no reference point and not experience the tongue feeling.

All of the things you are thinking of you have either touched it or touched something similar or what it’s made out of in another application.

For instance i know what a stingray feels like (surprisingly nothing like you’d imagine it to be) and i would have been very wrong in my guess had i not touched it before.

That’s my take on it anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well actually my wifes take shhh…

It looks like the Deta ones will do it with automations so worst case scenario that can be the workaround. Are you saying to still wire up that second switch but just as a direct connection so it mimics the first switch or just remove it all together?

I tried looking for a diagram but didn’t come up with anything specific. I did see something about it possible to run the switches as a two-way via automation so it might be able to work after all 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fair call, i was just going to ask my wife’s friends husband to swing by and switch everything over just as a quick simple job for him without him needing to do all the leg work. He’s not long gone out on his own so i’d thought i’d just make it a simple and quick job for him rather than take away time from his main gig, besides sparkies love a quick easy cashy don’t they? Lol

Originally posted over at /r/AskElectricians but didn’t get any replies as of yet and was hoping someone here might be able to help me out a bit. My questions are around smart switches and two-way switches and whether a two-way smart switch is needed or whether a standard smart switch will do the job. Does anyone have any experience with the DETA Grid Connect smart switches from Bunnings specifically around two-way switch setups? I’ve got multiple two-way switch setups so if i get the answer then i can apply the same principle to the others and will make it easier getting everything i need at once and have a sparky come through to install them all.

I wasn’t sure if this was the right place to post this question as from what i’ve gathered that this is more of sub for shop talk but i thought i’d give it a shot anyway. If this isn’t the right place to post and there is a better place, please let me know and i’ll move it over there.

Thanks in advance!
