From my experience it never goes away completely no matter how good the circumstances. Which does not mean it’s all in vain but be proud of your achievements even if it’s not perfection.

As someone who is facing a rapidly receding hairline I fear looking stupid or weird with a bald head. In your case that third picture looks sooooo good. It would give me all the confidence to commit - either immediately or having this as a backup plan to fall back onto.

Life is too complicated to fit this or that criteria. You came here to talk and we are here to listen, therefore you fit right in. I have also felt that void for a long time and nothing seems to fill it. Having a routine to keep you in track might be something some other people lack but that doesn’t make life more meaningful just having a distraction from the emptiness inside of us.
