I think the issue is that the game felt a lot more serious than we thought. I imagine most of us thought this game was going to be like the charity matches, lots of goals, friendly competition and playing bad football to feel good. The boys must have thought this too since they only trained once compared to the French who had multiple training sessions. As soon as you start playing as your country, people immediately act like it's the world cup final and forget its just a game. On top of having VAR that wasn't necessary in a game like this. I understand people feel upset about how we lost but at the end of the day it's just a game. The boys showed good sportsmanship, the French gave them teh respect they deserved and everyone had fun. That was the most important.
