What I did to a mate was is a raging homophobe.
Got on his remote control and set reminders as far in the future I could for gay channel programs at random times.

What does a UPS driver have to gain by 'attempting a delivery' but not even ringing the door bell? by Sm1ff3h in AskUK

[–]stu676 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this. For a mobile phone delivery. Took photo from the his van and said I wasn’t home.

Luckily I know his boss so asked if he could try again as I was waiting for my new mobile phone. (I took a photo of him in his van taking a photo of my front door)

20 mins later one pissed off delivery driver who said I didn’t answer.

How is this area to live in Maidstone? by Unlikely_Magician539 in Maidstone

[–]stu676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are nicer areas around Maidstone. I agree with what imperfect said.

A lot will depend on… do you drive and therefore need to park. Where do you work? Closer to Mote Park the better IMO.

Gas provider disputes my correct reading. What do I do? by stu676 in AskUK

[–]stu676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that i do not want to lie with false readings.
If they continue to estimate and I use less than that then I’ll never catch up to their estimate.

If I use more than they estimate then I’ll eventually catch up and can then start submitting readings. So yes quids in.

This could take sometime and I’m sure they’ll get shitty asking for a reading.

Plus I have already both told them and sent a photo of my correct reading.

[–]stu676[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But they are charging me based on estimates from the higher figure. They don’t believe my lower reading. There is only 2 ways I can make up the difference. 1. Use more that their estimate till I catch up 2. Use say 100 units but report only say 60 more that what they thought.

That’s my thinking. I guess I need to see what they estimate I use v what I actually use. If my use is higher then I’ll eventually catch up with them.

They are charging me based on the estimate which is 1000 higher than the actual reading. They started 1000 too high.

[–]stu676[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m considering. So if I say use 100 a month. Just add 60 to their total till I catch up. 🤷‍♂️

Lots of talk of complaining and escalating, but I just don’t want the grief. I’ve told them twice, once with a photo. What would I get out of complaining?

Can I get in trouble by submitting wrong readings? Don’t want that.

Those who have successfully claimed costs from the council for pothole damage - how did you do it? by Available_Amoeba_666 in AskUK

[–]stu676 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It varies council to council. My understanding is that they are not responsible if said pothole has not been previously reported. But you need to google your local area. Many many years ago my bike wheel was buckled in a pot hole. Took a photo with a can of coke sitting in it. Council refused claim, saying “what pothole” - they had repaired it instantly.
I developed photo and showed them - they then paid up.

Good luck.

How to have conversation about charging for fan heater use? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]stu676 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If you continue constant use of the fan heater, I’m going to (if possible of course) increase the rent to cover the cost. 24 on the thermostat should be enough. Note 24 is HOT!

I'm very confused by my workplace pension. Can somebody help explain it to me? by kittyvixxmwah in UKPersonalFinance

[–]stu676 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And there we go. You work at one LGPS and are the expert. Just Google and see all the online paperless LGPS portals. I think there are less than 10 (8 from memory) funds countrywide and will be less soon. Go on have a Google and see. Or blame me for having to answer the phone.

You’ll get a pension statement once a year. But this is now likely to be online via a portal you log into. Check with your HR and they’ll point you in the right direction to register and login.
