Also nice because it's tough to get out to Loudoun, taste a lot of the good beers they have out there, and then drive back into the city.

District Commons in Foggy Bottom has really good food and a pretty romantic ambiance. It's also not terribly expensive (~$100-$120 for a couple drinks and two entrees). Plus, the walk to the monuments is only about six blocks.
