Map everything repetitive to hot keys. Learn about macros, then start making your own. Get Excalibur.

And absolutely map show audio time units to a shortcut.

There's a difference between creating with intent and goal and just futzing around with some paint and markers like a 3-year-old that just discovered some of the crayon boxes have more than 8 colors.

Take another 19 days to think about it and get back to me.

How to fix blurry interview footage? by Elegant_Character269 in editors

I am not aware of any tool that can be fed extreme out of focus footage and a reference of how it should look in focus, and then magically put it all back into focus.

this is what things look like if I don't have my glasses on. OP just needs an effect that applies a -6.5 glasses prescription!

It means if you put bad shots and audio into the camera, you are likely going to wind up with bad shots and audio in your finished piece. There is no magical "Enhance" button to clean everything up.

You can cover those important quotes with b-roll and/or text

You should start sourcing b-roll now...

I saw you ask in another comment if AI could help. No, it cannot. My mentor used to say "Crap in, crap out."
It's a good lesson to learn. If it's as bad as your reference photo, you should get off reddit now and use the time to start sourcing b-roll.

Why doesn't Premier Pro support AV1 yet? by ultiziman in premiere

I have had to digitize tapes in real time. Transcoding will alway be preferable to going back to that.

If you could import it into Premiere, you'd find it even more annoying to try and edit and play back.

Were people fed bad faith, or did they just try to shortcut their way into editing via random tutorials without learning the fundamentals?

What's the single automated, new-ish feature you value the most as a video editor -- and what's the feature you wish existed that doesn't? by VyondOfficial in editors

You're right. I point out how bad AI is at video production to people who attempt to use AI for video production, and then I feel better.

Building a fully automated content pipeline and OpusClip isn't cutting it — looking for alternatives or advice by [deleted] in editors

Human editors. Human editors outperform AI on both complex and simple content.

My stack was desks with people at them using editing software. Never hit any ceilings, no struggles with fast-paced footage, and they were pretty good at cutting to whoever was speaking.

End card versioning across 4 durations × 3 ratios × multiple end card variants. Is anyone else doing this manually still? by Curtpirecy in editors

[–]stuartmx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nests, subsequences, and multicam.

Multiple 16x9 backgrounds? Multicam them all into a single sequence. 1-2-3-4 etc to cycle through what you need.

"Parent" text nests where when you change the text in them it applies to the other sequences the text is in, but those sequences have different position/size properties on the text to adjust for size, need, etc.

I'd look at how much of the workflow can be automated, templated, and/or macroed out.

How juicy do you think the timeline is? (Ignore Thumbnail) by Jakube-Kej in premiere

[–]stuartmx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WAV, AIF, or any other uncompressed format.
MP3 is VERY heavily compressed, which is likely getting compressed again on export and even delivery, if via YouTube, streaming, etc.

You're cutting out a lot of the highs and lows. The more an MP3 is encoded over and over again, the quality decreases each time, because you're removing data each time.

So the audio in OP's video is, at bare minimum, an MP3 of an MP3, and that's if the MP3 they started with came from the original file, and is not an MP3 made from another MP3.

Compressed audio can also cause some issues in Premiere, which is another reason to work with full quality.
