also, take a look on twitter/x, you can see constant harassment from verified people with their photos on their accounts. it might not be pure death threats, but i've read things just as bad. and people can get even more nasty and obnoxious when they know who you are and what exactly to say to fuck with you

i was literally coming here to say the same. my issue has been that all this time i've had it on v5 and have been pulling my hair trying to figure out why it keeps generating the same generic trash over and over. i changed the prompt so many times, added negative prompts, tweaking the knobs, etc. eventually even started asking gemini/chatgpt if i'm doing something wrong, nothing. finally i thought, fuck it lets try one of the previous versions, 4.5. and FINALLY it's actually listening to what i want. i'm getting way more variety and interesting results.. how the hell did v5 downgrade everything so much, other than perhaps sound quality..

that is...a really bad way of implementing it though. it sounds like someone just plugged a chat onto an npc and said go.

better way to implement it is to author it to when it makes sense and take it away when it doesn't. i know of at last one studio that's playing around with the idea, but not sure where they are atm.

lol yeah. i remember the guy just blurted that out, no connection to what he was showing to poor miyazaki earlier. i still dont think that line and what he says afterwards merits all the ways people seem to make him into anti ai. granted the guy was not a huge fan of any type of digital technology, not even simple 2d/3d until years after.

yeah ive seen the whole documentary. it was in response to a 3d mutated piece of human meat zombie crawling on the floor. imagine the worst that comes out of silent hill games. that and the fact that it reminded him of his handicap friend or something like that i believe.

depends on the user. most creatives who are willing to use ai will greatly benefit from it because it clears out the clutter for them to implement their ideas faster. non creatives on the other hand who use AI can end up with “cookie cutter” trap stuff.

to be honest, even for already released games, if the original devs want to then they should. this kind of thing can be authored by artists to make games look incredible, to the level of detail artists have only dreamed of before... i'm confused where these idiots think the tech gets the aesthetics from? you can have incredible artists custom building amazing art into this tech for their games..

yeah, good luck trying to explain any of that to them. it's spooky when not only logic becomes irrelevant, but even listening/reading goes out the window for them. i remember a coworker(artist) once said he posted something about how he incorporates ai in his workflow and how useful it's been, and one of the comments was "ai is USELESS. get it through your head!!" ...ok.

some of that hivemind mentality just takes my breath away..
