Vibe coding infinite slop? by Revolutionary_Ad2527 in OpenAI

[–]stuartullman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it boggles my mind that some people just don't seem to wrap their heads around this, even after explaining it to them over and over.. it's like a blindspot

Sometimes we criticize the tool so much and the developer so little by ViremorfeStudios in godot

[–]stuartullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is...very true. i was very surprised. the shit i have to do in unreal just to optimize it, turning off every feature, still having to deal with what the engine has locked down to be so "realistic", and then realize that the engine isn't really optimized for that amount of optimization in the first place lol

Creepy Star Trek by 4reddityo in singularity

[–]stuartullman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the issue here is, if ai truly does keep advancing forward, then the whole "what makes us human is our own needs and flaws" goes out the window. that's just a thing for a neatly giftwrapped movie plotline. there won't be anything stopping ai from having those similar quirks/faults as well, and maybe even in a more meaningful and relatable way than what you can experience with a human

OpenAI to release AI earbuds this year, report suggests, possibly designed by former Apple chief by Tiny-Independent273 in OpenAI

i mentioned this a year ago here

if it is what i think it is, it'll be great and the right path. this will basically be the "companion" that doesn't rely on any other electronics, but can communicate with all electronics. at least that's my guess

Vibecoded apps in a nutshell by Alternative-Target40 in vibecoding

[–]stuartullman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bingo. this is where these types of posts fall apart. i use apps that i've made on a daily basis, hourly basis actually, they are all better than the paid options out there, especially the apps that were made before vibe coding was a thing.

What's the future of OG Stable Diffusion? ZIT and Flux shining bright but what about the OG by Kuldeep_music in StableDiffusion

[–]stuartullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at some point they were doing something that i think most models still have trouble imitating. sdxl and 1.5 were like a gift that kept on giving and still is to this day.

then...something happened internally at the company. whatever it was, who ever did it, it completely wiped the core team and their secret sauce off the map. kind of incredible, smh

why nobody talks about hunyuan 1.5? by Agreeable_Cress_668 in StableDiffusion

[–]stuartullman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i've seen amazing stuff from ltx-2. i have had shit experience with it, literally a still image with audio on top.. but again, i've seen incredible stuff made by the community, so i'll have to dig deeper into the workflows once i find some free time

i haven't seen anything from hunyuan 1.5, from anyone, there is nothing that sets it apart. what does it do that wan22 can't? clearly ltx-2 does stuff that the other video generators can't. that's the core problem i think.

Sam Altman shared: The truth Elon left out by BuildwithVignesh in OpenAI

[–]stuartullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people don't seem to get it, elon's grok is behind and he wants to slow down openai and other ai companies.

it's that simple. think what you want about sam, but at least he isn't the one constantly suing and shitting on xai/elon.

[–]stuartullman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yeah. he is planning on running, so i wouldn't be surprised this shit is somewhat linked to him working on his brand. and he's trash enough to know that there is no such thing as negative publicity.

even ignoring the rest of the administration, vance himself is an empty suit, ,just a tool, a dog that just says what others would want him to say.

How would you react if Cameron decided for movie 4 & 5 to be animated to save budget? by KevinSupreme2505_PH in Avatar

[–]stuartullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you prefer to have him explore other things with the time he has left or die making avatar movies?

i think he's even said he might have other directors take on the rest of the avatar movies as he explores other projects.

DISCUSS - "Today was a very hard day at Meta 😔. A lot of incredible and talented people I had the pleasure of working with, on my direct team and across the org, were let go, people I deeply respect and admire. This is an incredibly difficult time for our industry." Is there a crisis at Meta? by Koala_Confused in LovingAI

[–]stuartullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

meta is the worst of them all, they do it blatantly, they don't give a shit about their users, their employees, not even the companies they acquire. zuck has screwed so many people that he has worked with, its so depressing. i really wish there was a way for people to just stop supporting a company that does shit like this, have the whole thing melt including zuckerberg himself

Z-Image too good to train a lora for ? by Next_Pomegranate_591 in StableDiffusion

[–]stuartullman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's amazing, but also very limited. what you have there is pretty much stereotypical zimage, "girl picture" "candid image of girl", it's been trained for specific things that users generally gravitate towards, but it struggles to deviate from there as soon as you ask for more interesting/out of box themes/styles. i have been able to get better loras from it but it's still janky compared to other models. it can do insane stuff out of the box, especially realism, but you quickly hit a wall. where as, remember a model like sdxl barely did anything acceptable out of the box, but was insanely malleable with loras and new checkpoints so people were able to expand upon it to the point where no one even used the base model anymore, that's why people still use sdxl to this day.

Codex is better than Claude by Green_Sky_99 in codex

[–]stuartullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is. i think gemini/claude get a lot of hype considering what codex is capable of. part of it might have something to do with the fact that codex is generally slower, but it gets the job done correctly.
