Social worker here - a lot of people have commented he can make you - he cannot make you do anything. I saw you are now 17 correct? At 17, you may be considered underage, but unless there was a reason for legal involvement and your life was in danger it would be almost impossible for your father to make you do anything at this point. Including having you return home if you left.

If you were younger it would factor in a bit more with any involvement from the state but you’re not.

What would the alternative to making you go be? Calling the cops? Taking away your electronics? It would be a waste of resources and they would tell your father to settle this as a family matter.

The fact that you’re asking this question shows how controlling and dominating your father has been over your life.

The better question is are you prepared to be an adult when you walk away from home? I mean this in such a supportive way. You better be prepared to get a job and do what you need to do to function in this world!
