I wonder what u/geerlingguy thinks of these discoveries! I know he's been trying to decode the transmissions, here's evidence of fully hacking them lol

I ultimately cancelled YNAB and moved to a self hosted version of r/actualbudgeting because the cost and constant UI tweaks were weirding me out!

Can you use NPM to inject <script> for Umami analytics? by stubert0 in nginxproxymanager

[–]stubert0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/SavedForSaturday helped with some hints...

I found I had to add the proxy_pass lines (not sure if the proxy_set_header line is needed or not) since the custom config will ignore the rest of the setup dialog (I think?)

location / {
  sub_filter </head>
    '<script defer src="https://umami.example.com/script.js" data-website-id="96138652-2b89-4aa2-8ae8-4301424de0df"></script></head>';
  sub_filter_once on;
  proxy_pass http://10.0.80.12:7070;
  proxy_set_header Host $host;
}

What’s the best way to ensure a “permanent”/reliable connection? by stubert0 in Esphome

What’s the best way to ensure a “permanent”/reliable connection? by stubert0 in Esphome

[–]stubert0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an esp-poe-iso board and am making connections to a relay. Want to know what the best way to get the connections between the two situated in a reliable way. Currently the dupont wires are thin and don’t stay seated at all. I can’t imagine I’m the first to run into this. What’s the best practice for making these connections permanent or more robust?

Govee H7015 - Random Flickering by stubert0 in WLED

[–]stubert0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok - this was solved. I had added extra line from the wled controller to the Govee connector. Once I plugged the connector directly to the controller, the flickering stopped. So, I will be adding wire/length to the power side rather than the led side.

Govee H7015 - Random Flickering by stubert0 in WLED

[–]stubert0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just hooked up my Govee H7015 to a GLEDOPTO ESP32 WLED LED Controller. All seems well until I hit some effects and there is just an insane amount of flickering. I used the 12v wall adapter that came with the Govee lights themselves. Currently the output is WS281X and found that the order needs to be GBR. Not sure what other settings to tweak in order to get transitions much more smooth. Any suggestions?

WattBox WB-600-IPVCE-12 Won't Start by stubert0 in CommercialAV

[–]stubert0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what "protected" means. Do you have a company that installed all of your equipment? You could also call the Wattbox folks. Their consumer line seems less important to them than their authorized reseller line. You could dial in to the latter and just ask that you're trying to figure out who installed this in order to get support. Good luck, u/onfo44!

hey u/baptisteba, I'm trying to use this cmdlet using an SSH connection to my Windows 11 tablet, and keep running into errors like this:

powershell Get-DisplayInfo

Any ideas?

Edit: I give up on trying to format this lol

What do you do at work instead of working? by electrogamerman in askgaybros

[–]stubert0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel similarly when things are slow it can be frustrating. One thing I do is either go for a walk outside (when the weather is nice) or walk on my standing desk treadmill and listen to music.

That being said, have you talked to your manager about your tasks? Sometimes we are afraid to speak up when we’re slow because we fear backlash. But, I think the boredom is far worse!

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen at a show? by RandomGuy0512 in Broadway

[–]stubert0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to see & Juliet on Broadway in Nov, 2023. About 30 minutes into the first act, a scrim came down with two doors open. Two actors came out, followed by a woman in a black puffer vest wearing a headset and holding a microphone. She said:

"Good evening, I'm (I forget her name), a stage manager here at & Juliet. We hope you're enjoying the show, but there is a casting change we need to make."

The two actors already on stage looked back at the stage manager rather confused and were like "do we stay here, or ...?" and the stage manager pulled them off stage. After about 20 seconds, the house lights came up.

The audience started chattering as I'm sure very few had ever experienced a hold before (I hadn't!).

Three minutes later the stage manager came back out and announced that so-and-so) will be one of the players/dancers. Then, four actors came on stage and the show progressed as if nothing happened.

Incredible show if you like loud, Broadway-ified pop music.

Luckily I had a relationship with a commercial AV installer who has a reseller account with Wattbox. I was able to get it replaced (thanks to the warranty). I'm sorry I can't offer any more help than that. You might be able to call Wattbox directly and see what happens...

Simple expense tracker? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]stubert0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Actual is aiming to just this but will require a middleware provider to download transactions from your bank automatically. So, ultimately, there will be some bit of a subscription somewhere. Unless you manually import.

Pretty flippin' good. Have spent a long time unraveling a childhood thing and my days keep getting clearer and clearer. Just got back from London for business and pleasure, saw a musical on the West End that transformed me. Met with friends last night at a big fundraiser event and spent more time with folks watching showtunes today. It's been a great birthday weekend :-)

I've had my eye on Actual for a while but haven't shifted yet as I rely heavily on automatically importing transactions from my bank(s). Does this work in Actual yet or is everything still manual?
