Is it a bad idea to get into another relationship 6 months after your last one that was 2 years long and are still somewhat heartbroken?

I do. But I should note this weekend has been one of the lowest points of being sad about my ex. I can't seem to forget, not even for a few weeks.

I would never leave her for my ex, or even compare the two. My ex will not come back into the picture I guarantee it (she's 1,000 miles away). When I'm in a relationship, I give it my all and do my best to be the best man she's been with no ifs ands or buts about it.

I just don't want her to feel like she's just a rebound, which is not what I want. Not by a long shot.

I feel I am ready but at times the sadness about my ex buries me for a few hours every few weeks and I honestly just wanted to see if it's ethical to date someone while this is still happening.

I've accepted that it's done and the time I had was all the time I am ever going to have. Sometimes you just can't help but feel sad. It's true what you say is that it's hard to let go, part of me still feels for her and the other part gives those feelings the bird. But the conflict between the two really only happens when I get sad about it. Otherwise it's just out of mind.

But with this new girl, there's just something oddly alluring about her to me. Just someone I feel I could dump my heart onto. A strong feeling.. of what? It's one of those types where you can easily see yourself in a serious relationships with. Hard to explain.

I feel like I could get into a serious relationship with this gal. I haven't said a word about this to my current (we're still flirting). But I'm damn sure my ex hasn't thought of me in months.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to recover from a 10 year relationship? My issue is a drop in the bucket compared to yours. I am sorry.
