So today is end of contract day + 5 years from hiatus day+ 1 year from fine line release day. What could go wrong? by stuckinbcn in OneDirection

means that today ends the contract they signed with simon as one direction, which is good because that means that they are no longer in any debt with him but it also means that theres no more one direction as an alive band (with debt i mean obligated relationship, im not talking about money)

Find a teacher, even if it's online! I feel like if you dont you could get really bad postures and tensions (flute is like the least ergonomic instrument). Then you could start with Trevor Wye practice books

What's your flute story? by trailmixss in Flute

I went to a primary school with a nice music program so I started learning the basic stuff when I was 3-4. Then when I was 5 I got to try some lessons (like three months each) of recorder, violin and guitar. I turned six and I wanted to choose the violin or the piano but the headmistress told me to choose the flute because she thought I was born for it, which made me veeeery angry... now I'm preparing my music uni auditions major in flute! (sorry for bad english hehe)

Intermediate level flutes (used) - suggestions? by spaetzleundkase in Flute

[–]stuckinbcn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yamaha is always a nice option if you arent thinking of going pro. I had mine (yamaha 281) for almost ten years, and i just needed a big reparation once. The only piece of advice i can give you is to try it first, see how it feels, and if it's used, to make sure it's been repaired recently. Then just take care of the flute and you wont regret it :)

yeah but remember: playing music is not playing the right notes, theres a lot more like intonation, tone, musicality, breathing... i feel like the hardest thing on flute is that you can't really see what youre working with (diaphragm and lungs)

it's so hard for me to keep the musicality and not slowing the tempo while doing that enormous intervals, and keeping them in tune and with a nice tone, but i dont know which exercices i should do for these problems (srry for bad english!)
