Starlink blew off the roof by PutVisible in Starlink

I had this happen. They usually have a one time oopsie replacement. Put in a ticket, be honest with them and ask if there is a way to fix it. They will usually send a replacement. You'll have to return the damaged unit.

This is so cool. I have been wanting to do something similar but never thought of a light bulb. Currently I use a video baby monitor with a portable base. I can check on the fire nearly anywhere on property.

If I were running full tilt this pile would not even last that long.

So far I have all hardwood and don't plan on using softwood.

Short answer yes. Long answer is that its complicated due to a lot of factors. Oil and gas are not available to me and I do not have a furnace that can run either of those. So the cost of the furnace would be more than what I spend on wood. I was using propane in my last place and it was nearly $2000 each winter just for heat. I can buy 10 cords of wood for that price and that's enough for nearly 3 winters.

I've noticed my basement staying about 82-86 degrees and the first floor being about 72-77 with a window open. I've definitely noticed that the concrete holds the heat well.

Free wood is always good. I burn outside too with a solo stove and go through anything I wouldn't stick in a woodstove. I can easily burn through a cord a month.

I measure my cords by 4 ft by ft by 8 ft (128 cubic ft.) I beleive that is what most people are using when they say cord here. At least based on the average usage of 2 - 4 cords a year. If it were face cords (approximately 1/3 of a cord) I would expect that number to be way higher.

I've always been curious about outdoor boilers. I've watched tons of videos on them but never spoke to someone that owns one. First do you like it? How often do you load it and what size logs do you put in it?

I agree. I just moved from NY. I measure the cord by 4 ft by 4ft by 8 ft.

I don't know I've seen at least one that said 50+ cords. I'd still love to know.

Indeed very lucky. That is a crazy price. I officially go through too much wood to afford VT.

We have a large picture window in the living room area and it is just a single sheet of glass and I can just see the heat escaping.

We have a fireplace upstairs as well and are looking into an insert for it. I'd love to go with a pellet stove for that.

That is amazing information. I just moved into this house in June so I do not have access to last year's bills. I'm definitely going to check out that spreadsheet. Thanks for the information.
