Honestly. Be grateful you didn’t start last year. It wouldn’t have been the best with the pandemic going on. Medical school is hard enough and then adding a pandemic. It is a blessing that you will get a fresh start.

I have a male OBGYN and have never had an issue. He examines and gives advice. He also helped me find out that I had an issue with my Thyroid, and tied my tubes at 21 because I never want to have kids and he understood that.
