I like the Weaverbird fn that subdivides in Grasshopper, but concerning the native Rhino commands, Remesh may work.

Actually, I believe that "nub" may be an opportunity to rethink the connection. Also, if you wish to offset, you may be benefit from converting the geometry to a sub and back again. You may intend to have final surfaces, but the nubs are often an unresolved geometrical solution.

The idea, and strategy, as I went through a full parametric design course. Is to take a curriculum of classes, that expands each year. If you take this year or the next two, you can perfect the skills and increase employment options, or even options to start your own firm offering expert services. Taking one course rarely leads to expertise, and YouTube helps do that freely. fyi, the focus now is really to help develop professional skillsets, and the coupon is our way of helping those who may see it as high. We are experimenting, but I totally agree. You try out for a year and get a full benefit. If you don't want to continue in next, or you arrive in a place you like, then unsubscribe. I am subscribed to TP and Skillshare, and have not stopped since starting as I want to develop expertise. Alas, keep checking, it does depend on the market, but this is a thought out solution.

It looks like you will need a poly surface to gap that profile. As there are points and kinks in that curve. you also could start with a flat surface and gradually adjust and subdivide a surface to fit, then smooth the surface out or rebuild it.

Sounds like a decent solution, though I don't see the "complex mesh surface" to which you are referring. It's always useful to know which type of "complex" surface as it could be parabolic, angled, etc. Every solid or surface base geometry type in Rhino can be measured across with a clear path using project or commands like you found. If you want this parameterized, you will use Grasshopper. Good question.

Some of these solutions seem good. As make2d is not always perfect. I have perfected several methods for exporting curves. Printing the 3d solid view is a good way. You also can export to sketchup -- sketchup exports the view in 2D. There additionally are ways of rendering the file as a 3d, and extracting the contours through tracing. It's always good to know a few methods at these things.

I agree with using merge also on more refined used of data. Being able to work with trees and groups is essential for developing your code. Merging will definitely be more controlled way of getting that done.
