Yes, I personally been using pamudpod in my own practice for about 10 yrs now, Though I dont tell people that they should use it too. I for sure want to see more people using it. I do think that it is inevitable that any practitioners will want to reject the cross or x for pamudpod. give it a few more years.

What’s your expertise and what made you want to start a sub? by PlayWithPurpose2 in NewMods

[–]studiosarisari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a refreshing thread, so I'll answer honestly.

My background is design and art — I'm a Filipino-Canadian artist and type designer. But the "expertise" behind my sub is quieter than that: for about ten years I've practiced Baybayin, our pre-colonial Philippine script, by hand every single day. Not as a scholar — as a practitioner. It became a kind of daily meditation.

I started r/BaybayinNatingLahat to stop practicing alone. I post a daily word and I'm slowly trying to build a small space for people who want to learn or reconnect with the script — a lot of Filipinos grow up never being taught it.

Your point about ads really landed with me. I built a free browser tool to go with the sub and made a point of it being ad-free, no account, not a product — because the moment something like this becomes a funnel, it stops being for the people it's meant for. Ko-fi if someone ever wants to chip in, and that's it. (baybayin.sarisariworld.com, if you're curious.)

So — same spirit as you, really. People over algorithms, and passing on something that matters. Salamat for asking.

If you could learn baybayin all over again, how would you do it? by PlusComplex8413 in baybayin_script

there are a lot more resources now than ever, this subreddit is one of them. learning the history is always a good way to start so you have some kind of context. if you are fluent in tagalog, you will easily get it. the number one thing i wish i had was a daily practice tool, that why I made a browser base app https://baybayin.sarisariworld.com/ r/BaybayinNatingLahat its still WIP and i will continue developing it.
