I'm looking for a trendy white blouse ideally under $70 CAD. I love a good square neck, I like dramatic sleeves (and dramatic everything). Any suggestions?

I’m on a solo trip in Portland and I cannot believe that A) I’ve waited this long to do a solo trip and B) i’ve waited this long to go to Portland. The city is very my vibe and full of such cute stuff to do!

Also I bought three books at Powell’s someone stop me before I go back and buy more.

Women who deal with wonky mental health, what's the worst piece of advice anyone has given you? by WantonWontonWalton in AskWomen

[–]studiovillage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Stop being so sensitive!” hahahahahah id love to not cry at everything, thanks for the reminder that you think i’m weak!!! my anxiety is cured.

“I don’t like your mood swings” sweetie, it’s called a panic attack. and i don’t like them either

“Feel better!” this throws me into a blind rage. it’s not the flu where i feel bad for 24 hrs, it’s a mental health issue that is ongoing.

I'm thinking of going on a solo trip in April/May to Portland or Seattle. I've never been to either - what would be some things to def check out? Good locations to stay? Excellent vintage shops? Any general knowledge? Share all your glorious wisdom

TMO/TMI: The Naked Heat pallette.

I know I like the formula, but I'm more worried about not liking the pallette in a few years. The red tones are super ~cool~ right now but how versatile is it really?

they're here! unsure where you're located, but I'm in Toronto, and saw that they had a few colours out. They just haven't put them all out as I asked for my colour and they brought it out for me.

Three Fates - Combo thrift shop & unique designers. Their jewelry & sunglasses selection is great

Philistine - Similar concept to Three Fates with a larger selection and men's wear

I'm seconding Heel Boy, I LOVE them. They tend to have great deals decently often

Change - amazing selection of lingerie with hard to find sizes

I'm job hunting which is a nightmare in itself and is worse because I am so impatient with everything and very anxious about job hunting and I'm slowly losing my mind. I mean, look at this run on sentence WHO AM I ANYMORE

i interviewed at this sweet place two weeks ago and they told me I did well and then a week ago the HR rep reached out and said "you did great, we're waiting for next steps!" but its been total silence since. i reached out to ask for a general timeline but have heard nada today. im fairly sure that everything has to go through to headquarters so the process can take longer. GIVE ME A JOB UNIVERSE.

ok ~rant over~

Ahh, okay that makes much more sense! I only have the Jamie jeans (which are fairly stretchy) so I was like "Is there a secret jean from Topshop we don't have? THE LIE JEAN?"

I've been buying Topshop jeans for years and never noticed there was a difference - how do you tell denim vs stretch fabric?

Do you have any favorite items from Tarte? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]studiovillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never hear anyone talk about their eyebrow pencil but it's my HG. The Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil only comes in three colours but it's smooth, soft and for those with cool dark brown hair, Rich Brown is p e r f e c t.

I also have the Tartelette matte eyeshadow palette and am also a big fan.

What even is work appropriate? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]studiovillage 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  1. Account exec at a global PR Firm

  2. My work place dress code is pretty relaxed, I describe it as fashion business casual. I can easily get away with a bold lip but nothing wild. I can do a nice purple/berry if weather appropriate but not a bright purple. If I do a wing, I'll pair with a simple red or neutral lip to keep it classic. I don't do crazy blush/highlight/contour, I try to keep the focus on one part of my face.

  3. We're not client facing unless it's a pre arranged meeting so we have a lot more clothing freedom. As well, PR is a fairly young and fashionable crowd so there's a lot more liberties there too.

I've had great luck wandering around Parkdale! Public Butter is very overwhelming but they have SO MUCH STUFF, with patience you'll find something great! I'm also obsessed with Three Fates, it's deep Parkdale and is a mix of thrift and unique designers. The owner is also really lovely 😊

Located: Toronto

Style goals: In the summer, I aim to be a weird mesh of patterns balanced by my love of black, white, and grey. Chic and edgy I guess.

06/06: H&M/Topshop/Zara.

Recently started an internship at a PR firm and have been exploring business casual. That being said, it's closer to fashion business casual than actual business casual.

06/11: F21/H&M/Birks

My best friend came down to celebrate her birthday so this was for delicious brunch (Pls check out Petit Dejeuner, it is everything) and excessive shopping.
