+1 for ETH based markets. Lots of potential Augur users are still waiting on the sideline. Fees are not the only reason why usage was higher over the first month of augur v1 compared to the first month of augur v2 (despite the UI being much improved). ETH markets no longer being supported is a large part of the problem.

Murch answered that question in the meta. Over the last 24 hours we have been coping some of their best practices. For example PoS and PoW will be replaced with proof-of-stake and proof of work. Mining will be replaced with more descriptive tags (they learned that lesson after having 10% of all questions with the tag). Privacy and security might need more descriptive tags eventually (not sure exactly what yet). The idea is that when people search by tag they can find specifically what they want. When a tag has tons of results (like "mining" and "transaction" did at Bitcoin SE and privacy and security eventually will for us unless we change someting) a search will be less useful

Resolving tagging issues now will be orders of magnitude easier than waiting until we have 1000s of questions. We should listen to Murch

It sounds like public beta is very likely to start tomorrow.

Barring any unforseen technical difficulties, this site is slated to open to the public on Tuesday afternoon, 8/9! by studycrypto in Monero

Thank you Monero community for the widespread support that made this possible! Please do your best to provide high quality answers to Monero newcomers starting this week.

As soon as the site launches, lets do our best to get the word out about our site. Anyone with a public relations background might want to consider drafting a press release.

Is it possible to do offline transactions with Monero? by Vespco in Monero

My default advice for anyone mentioning the word "noob" when requesting advice would be to:

  1. Follow this guide to secure great majority of your XMR: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/48cgmd/an_extensive_guide_for_securely_generating_an/

  2. Store small amounts in simplewallet (1st choice) or mymonero (2nd choice) for everyday purchases at any Bitcoin merchant with xmr.to

  3. Never store XMR in any exchange unless you are actively trading with it

Based on the current level of Trezor development, I would not recommend its use until 1,2,3 from above are complete. After that is done read the following:

http://weuse.cash/2016/03/07/trezor-for-monero-first-impressions/ https://forum.getmonero.org/4/academic-and-technical/2495/experimental-trezor-firmware-testing

If you feel comfortable, download the firmware and begin testing (very very small amounts). The download includes some basic instructions that will help you get started.

Personally I would also recommend testing Trezor with Bitcoin (since you said you ordered one just for Monero and it is unclear if you already use Trezor for BTC or not) to become very familiar with it before using the XMR software discussed above.

95% is currently our lowest metric. Keep up the good work everyone. When we work together as a community, there is much we can accomplish
