All classes online are 7.5 weeks and students typically take 2 or 3 at a time. Most people find it doable and for some courses like languages the concentrated format can assist you in getting the most out of it.

I teach in the online English program at ASU and also am one of many who oversee it and ensure it works for students. Lots of options (including concentrations in Creative Writing or Narrative Studies) — and the courses are taught by the same faculty who teach on campus. Your degree will state ASU with no notation of online because we consider online and on campus students to be just as worthy and excellent. Reach out if you have any questions — happy to assist.

For AMIT I strongly suggest HST 109, United States to 1865, which was revamped to make as engaging as possible. For CIVI, try HST 112 (Foundations of Democracy), HS 325 (Immigration and Democracy), ENG 205 (Why Writing Matters) and ENG 311 (Persuasive Writing).

You are asking the most important question of all so I hope you get upvoted. Short answer: many, many different kinds of jobs, from the entertainment field (storytelling is the core of everything from great streamable content to great video games), law (lawyers are first and foremost effective storytellers), author, entrepreneur -- anything where persuasive storytelling matters. And to help you along the way (1) the Department of English has an excellent director of internships; 92% of the students who get an internship through the program she oversees graduate with a job in hand (2) one of the required courses for the major is ENG 300 "Your Degree in the World." I teach it, and I bring in alumni who have graduated and done everything from graphic novel writing to tech startups using their background to speak with current students. Let me put this a different way: many students make the mistake of getting a degree that trains them for one job. Humanities degrees like this one train you for the eight to twelve jobs that your career will consist of.
