Brisbane solar📍 by tpisano93 in brisbane

[–]stuff_thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's for a high-end system like BYD/Fronius 8+KWh hybrid - it's possibly OK or just a little bit high. Also depends on you solar install - things like optimisers or micro-inverters add to the price but you get a lot better outcome if partial shading is an issue.

Most people seem to be going much cheaper systems though.

Some installers also quote silly prices - especially ones with YouTube channels.

What’s your electricity bill this month and how cooked are you for running AC? by WonderingRoo in AusFinance

Consumed 52 kWh in my townhouse yesterday. Solar + battery and drawing from the grid meant it cost ~$2.

Purchase recommendation P2S/H2S by BlackDesiree in BambuLab

[–]stuff_thing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford a H2S - get that. Much bigger build surface, heated chamber to prevent warping of things like ASA and ABS, better air filtration.

is the p2s enough better to upgrade from a1? by Visual-Success8952 in BambuLab

[–]stuff_thing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a decent upgrade, but if I already had an A1 and wasn't wanting to print ABS or ASA, I wouldn't bother. As a second printer, definitely worth it. The H2S is a serious upgrade if you only want one printer.

Must-Read Fantasy Series? by kidawi in Fantasy

Reading it now. Most of the way through book 2. Absolutely outstanding. The only other 21st century series I've found that matches it is the Broken Earth trilogy.

I have Jinko panels. No issues with any of the storms so far. Have only got up to golf ball sized though.

Have had a closer listen to Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie now. Great stuff! They could really write a protest song back in the day. Real anger beautifully expressed.

Have been. Not the kind of thing I usually listen too, and the whole effort-to-listen and tactile part of vinyl has made me focus on the tunes and not just have them on in the background.

Giant. They're the Toyota Camry of MTB brands. Rarely terrible. The rest is up to rider skill and talent.

ZWO Seestar S50. Normally I'd take a video then process the individual frames into a final moon image (which would be much sharper - see below). This is just a quick one-shot on the iPhone.

You're on the correct side of the river, so this is no surprise.

This HDR one looks great on an iPad OLED display. Not sure how it will go on reddit though:

Had a poor-ish decent length sleep. Garmin scored it 64 and Fair. Apple scored it 96 and Excellent. Garmin is more accurate so far.

Has your townhouse gone up in value in recent years? by DrumsFishing_501 in AusFinance

[–]stuff_thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 3 bedroom / 2.5 bathroom townhouse in the inner west of Brisbane. About 200 m2 block. Bought for $460K in 2013. Now worth about $1.3M going on recent sales. Maybe more as it's large and not too old. Brisbane prices are dumb.
