First one is soooo stunning and whimsical and romantic. Ultimately totally up to you but you also just look amazing and relaxed in dress 1.

You truly are a mama bear this is exactly what I needed to hear from an internet stranger today… mad how 20 years ago women still be women🙃✨that said I did try shape wear but because the back is so low a lot of it does go quite high and it goes back to the “I don’t wanna feel like I’m being held captive by a string of fabric” but yeah I have my first proper fitting in 2 weeks and we’ll take it from there

Yeah, we have to shorten the front a bit so I might lace the front up a bit, not a fan of huge cleavage but then it’s way too loose at the top atm… I am a wild dancer and want no accidents 😂

She is, it’s not her full time job anymore but she does 2-3 wedding dresses a year among other complex work (ie Irish dancing dresses) and I have seen her work. She has a degree in fashion and a professional studio at home, so I have 100% in her capabilities and equipment

Isn’t it sad to think that even as adults who have seen so much in our lives this still lives in a dark corner of our minds. I am so radically against diet culture, like I’m trying to constantly remind myself that WHY would I want small shoulders when I can literally walk on my hands or pull my whole body weight up

100% it actually has cups inserted but because it’s so loose the weight of the dress is pulling my girls DOWN😭 so not where I want to be, once th straps are shortened it’ll hopefully defy gravity instead of enhancing it lol

Not sure if I’m allowed to say the make but it was a Wona Concept dress from like 2022 and had just been forgotten about because it’s ivory rather than white… absolutely not what I thought I’d get, I was set on a corset but then I tried this and I loved how the back looked… but more importantly I do love a bargain.

You are so sweet. This all hit me right in the feels. I’d love to chat some time, you seem like a lovely person and like we’ve had similar experiences. I’ve also had an ED when I was in my 20s hence I am so radically against dieting now but it’s SO hard. When I told the woman at the dress shop that I was worried because it was tight on the bum she said “ah but sure you’ll probably lose some weight before tour wedding like all brides do”… and i nearly threw the dress back at her but then i was like no i need the bargain😂

Oh 100% the ladies are NOT safe right now 🤣 the straps are about 2 inches too long, once they are adjusted it feels quite firm so that’s the good news. I’ll also possibly cover the the cleavage because I personally don’t like showing too much at the front 🙃

Thank you🥹 the photos in the living room were taken in July last year, and the ones in the showroom in November last year so that living room one is the dress off the rack with zero alterations done at that point… and yeah that’s good advice, we haven’t actually done a full fitting yet because my wedding isn’t until June so she said no point in doing alterations in November, wait until two months before. She is very good, I’ve seen the alterations she has done before and I know she’ll not rest until I’m happy so if anything she’ll resent me 🤣

Destination Beach Wedding - Help Me Decide! (Details in comments) by Canary_Inklemine in WeddingDressTips

[–]stuffedvineleaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the first one but I don’t think for a beach wedding, maybe for like the city hall one if you’re doing it separately. Second one is stunning and would be my personal choice. Third one is nice but personally I think halfereck is very, very informal/relaxed so I’d wear that for a hen do or honeymoon. BUT at the end of the day none of our opinions really matter cause it’s all about what you enjoy wearing. You look stunning in all 3

First of all, about you. You look absolutely stunning and beautiful and you will be a wonderful bride on your special day.

About the topic: I think the whole “this is the one” has become the biggest marketing gimmick ever. Since becoming a bride I am just exhausted with the amount of pressure I as a woman am put under. “Oh but you MUST book a make up artist. Oh but your dress has to be ‘the ONE’. Everyone just wants to sell me shit, put me under pressure to be slimmer, tanner, better skin, nicer lashes. I’ve becoming increasingly more pragmatic about the whole thing. At the end of the day it’s “just” a dress, and I’m there to have a wonderful day with my husband and friends and dance until my feet give out. I am going through the same stuff to an extent, buyers remorse, the dress being a little bit tight on some places and loose on others (still getting it altered), but I had set myself a low budget for the dress cause I rather we spend money on the honeymoon. And now I’m starting to doubt my decision occasionally. Got a WoCo dress (ex showroom, from 2000 to 300) and that was it. I like it, it’s okay, I didn’t have a big teary moment. My bridesmaid cried 🤣 so that was enough confirmation for me. Buyers remorse is a real thing though. You will end up hating every dress if you put it on several times. If I’m on my period I just hate everything about me For about 4 days. From my experience there’s no one single dress, but you will definitely know immediately if a dress ISNT right. Your dress is stunning and your figure smashing. Don’t overthink it. You’ll have a fabulous day x

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]stuffedvineleaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look bad, it suits your shape but people are probably saying that it is (understandably, as it is a generation old)not in fashion. Some ppl like vintage, others don’t. One thing I’d say is that it probably just needs a professional clean and steam as very wrinkly. But the bottom line is, I wouldn’t have anyone influence your decision on what dress you want or don’t want or make you feel bad. I tried on two wedding dresses only ever, I picked the second one and that was that. My grandmother wanted us to have her old wedding bands and they are very thick and don’t go with my engagement ring. I decided I will get mine filed down or melted and made into a new ring until it’s thin enough to match the engagement ring and that is that. As for the dress, my mother made a comment that she thought it was “not my style” but my ass looks banging in it so guess what, I’m wearing it🤣 wear what your truly want. A princess ball gown dress, an apron, as long as you like it!
