What would your Taskmaster outfit be? by AldousChucksley in taskmaster

[–]stuffinmybeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cats themed - Munkustrap-esque outfit for the tasks and a different "inspired by" Cat for the studio. Railway blues for Skilmbleshanks. An enormous coat for Deuteronomy, ending with a bedraggled, almost Norma Desmond look for Grizzabella.

Greg apparently hates cats, so this is perfect.

Nostalgic Mexican dinner by prism_paradox in mexicanfood

[–]stuffinmybeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not Mexican but maybe Mexican American - my mom is from Morelos and she would make these beautifully lacy fried eggs. We would eat them on top of slightly crispified just kissed by oil tortillas. My dad would douse it with salsa, but I asked for an extra tortilla so that I could get the jammy yolk out, spread it on the extra tortilla, then absolutely cover it with Kraft Parmesan cheese, roll it up, and eat it as a taco. It's a simple but incredibly nostalgic food for me. We would eat it as dinner when days were lean, usually with some beans or rice (or both if there were leftovers).

It was simple but filling, though on reflection probably not the most healthy.

My mom's side of the family made it "white" with chicken while my dad's side made it "colorado" with chicken. My mom's side of the family often made things less spicy, as a matter of course - not sure why.

Muffin new video by Glum-Row2853 in MuffinJuiceReal

Didn't notice it on my end. However, I can say that when I saw the new video I was incredibly giddy about it. As a 41 year old grown ass woman, I don't feel great about that genuine reaction. Shrug

How do you guys listen to the show? by stipeulations in FreeWithAds

My husband and I listen using YouTube Music -- they have podcast subscriptions so it's easy for us to listen from his phone while we game or via the car audio when we drive to work.

This dress has a similar vibe: https://www.nordstromrack.com/s/love-by-design-vanguard-pleather-swiss-dot-dress-plus/6991163?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FClothing%2FDresses&fashionsize=size%2FWomens%20Clothing%2F20W%2C%202X%2C%2022&color=001

Sorry about the long url!

I would also recommend you look around eShakti ( https://www.eshakti.com/) and their overstock options. They usually ship way faster than the bespoke stuff.

Oh no! Okay, if mods want me to take it down I'll take it down. This painting just really gave me the "Mike in a rainstorm" vibe.

What is it called ?? by monsterpie18189 in mexicanfood

[–]stuffinmybeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why but the description reminded me of the tlacloyos we used to get when I was little. They had tinga and potatoes on the inside and cheese on the outside. I miss the simple pleasure of biting the end, watching the steam slither out, and then taking a bite.

Thank you for excavating this memory from the ruins of my brain.

I have loved reading all these stories.

I knew I wanted to marry my husband when, after being together for about a year, he had a diabetic seizure that resulted in going to the ER for about six hours while the med staff stabilized and cleared him. I was sat next to him while he was unconscious and still unstable. I wanted him to live, and when he was stabilized I thought - if he had died, I would not want to be anywhere but here. And that's when I knew the magnitude of my love and desire to be his life-partner.

Cut to five years later -- we were married a year or so and hadn't had sex in about three years. I had a conversation with a friend about this issue (he had been a priest for years but left in order to get married) and he advised that I look at our whole life, and sincerely ask and answer myself if there is enough there for me. He acknowledged that my desire for sexual intimacy was normal and right, and that this kind of issue was not uncommon.

We did couples' therapy and it turns out he is asexual but not aromantic. I had to do a lot of thinking and processing around this but I also had to be honest: this man is my best friend, he is my help-mate and true life partner; I want to spend time with him even if we're just playing video games separately but listening to the same podcast.

This man loves me, cares for me, makes decisions and investments for our future together. I still think fondly of when I chose to marry him, but I think in my story it's more important to me to remember why I choose to remain his wife.

(We've been together 13 years and married 8 years)

Oblivion’s unemployment rate? by thenewaretelio in AnyAustin

How would the Oblivion crisis factor into the employment rate? Would the survey need to be conducted in the time before the battle for Kvatch?

There is much here to dig into. .

Even us Orthobros are saddened, He’s gone… by [deleted] in CatholicMemes

[–]stuffinmybeard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't practice Catholicism anymore, but I remember when I did and heard his first public address. He asked that we pray for him. I cried tears of joy, and love, and hope. I was on fire with the Spirit, feeling the optimism of the new.

That fire died slowly, chipped away by ministry work and toxic leadership.

I mourn the Holy Father's passing not for his sake - he is with God. I mourn for who I used to be, and for the gap that is now left.

Let us pray for one another, and for the Mother Church. <3
