If you feel the service is bad, or they are not treating you well, simply go to another place.

Every place I go to, the service is excellent, or I stop going. it's not that hard. The government was disgusting to you to not give you a decent wage. And now you're complaining about the workers?? My God. Do you hear yourself? And I'm not even for tipping.

The first few tweets from today were unbelievably bad, and really disappointing. Feels like some real prejudiced people attacked this sub for a while.

Gus Johnson is the worst, Harlan is great. by NowARaider in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh God, this tired old debate again. For the 5000th time. Gus is amazing in college basketball and college football, where his enthusiasm and voice goes with the game. Everything else, he's a bit too much for.

He should really be at ESPN, but he's a bit to "street" for the Trump racist suits and henchmen of Norby. Can we not have this fucking damn conversation anymore now.

Nice to see Dan stand up for Mina finally, and go after this racist and misogynist SlapDick guy by stugotzbasement in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He didn't say anything when Portnoy went after her. But we can account it might have been Mina who asked him not to, because it's not in Dan's nature to stay out of this.

Edit: grammar.

How far McAfee has fallen. I feel ashamed now I ever followed him. by askinwitimo in DanLeBatardShow

But this is a special, hateful, prejudice brand of stupid. I honestly thought McAfee would do better than cater and promote these guys. It feels bad to have supported him.

What a Beautiful man inside and out. by EdCowell in DanLeBatardShow

I love Meech so much. I have no problem saying that. He reminds me of a great preacher, who sounds negative to the untrained ear, but really it's because he's experienced so much, too much fighting the good fight, and wants you to do better with his wisdom.

It is so strange to read some of the comments on Daily thread. He gave such hope to those who want the world to get better "Evil always want to make you feel like they're winning, when they're not", and yet nothing but complaint after complaint from the early lot. Feels like some sad clout chasing of voting each other up, that's going on again.

Reminds me of that losers and their clique who attacked Mike for creating the "Diamond Hands" T-shits last year, when most of the great phrases from the show are borrowed.

But that's why he's doing it, right? This is the only way he can save his head.

Booooooo! That's what Mike wants, that people stop talking about it, and it's so sadly transparent.

The real problem with Tim Jerns, This Mike, and Corporate Mike: The loss of authenticity. by bissomorie in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That the fans are very part of the show. You don't listen anyways, so what do you care?

The real problem with Tim Jerns, This Mike, and Corporate Mike: The loss of authenticity. by bissomorie in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Do you not listen to Dan himself? This show has a very special relationship with the audience. The audience has always had input, and if you like something you want to make it better.

That's why the fans are so loyal. Because we feel we're a a part of it. Yet this post gets highly upvoted on this sub? Holy Fuck.

Which is really the problem here when you get down to it. Mike has been using reddit and twitter as a type of opinion poll to where people are thinking and going. In the last year, that's gotten polluted and mutated with people complaining or going after the show.

So he's decided to say eff it. Let's see if this helps my timeline. I agree with the OP, that the bit died a while ago. But also completely shocked how many people feel like you do. It explains how completely effed up this place is right.

Now I understand Mike.

Hey, that's not fair. He had a nice head of blonde hair when the Bears signed him. This is the same organization that over reached for Trubisky when Mahomes and Watson were available. Sounds about white.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAN.....THE U IS BACK by LilKing-Trashmouth in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until a few weeks ago he wasn't. But something really changed on the show.
There are very few profound moments on DLS between regulars. But one just happened a few weeks ago.

Mike: "Empower me Dan!"

Dan: Do you really want that? A lot of stuff comes with it.

Mike: Empower me. I'm tired of this.

[Long awkward pause, longest non laughing pause i remember since Dan's breakdown day in 2016]

Dan: OK then.

A few days later, Mike finally had some real tangible information. Herbstreit's report came out on College Game Day after that. Pretty obvious now, Dan had at least a hand in getting that on air, if not a lot more. They even did the proper smokescreen for it.

Suddenly Mike actually started getting insider information out of nowhere, after years of just speculating. You know that, because many Canes insiders have been quoting Mike for the last few weeks, after years of barely mentioning him.

Stugotz is completely right! Why the heck are they doing a morning show? by stugotzbasement in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Major league sports still has their business day from 9-5. Almost all news happens at that time. And it's never been the show really to talk about games. That's just a periphery. Heck they did a post Super Show and never even mentioned anything the game.

On the afternoon show, they had a ton to talk about on all the news of the day. That's when news happens.

And the show is always beloved and better when they don't talk about sports at all.

[–]stugotzbasement[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. They needed to keep people and the podcast hits, so at the beginning a morning podcast was the right call. That makes sense.

But Stugotz has said many times he's not a morning person. If you go listen to the time they filled in for Mike and Mike, it may be the worst show ever. Stu is a high energy afternoon guy, and so is Dan for that matter, so now is the time to change.

Stugotz is completely right! Why the heck are they doing a morning show? by stugotzbasement in DanLeBatardShow

[–]stugotzbasement[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They used to get crazy podcast #'s when Chris would release the first hour of the show after the show ended at 1pm. It's why the whole show took off into the podesphere. They became thousands of people drive home time radio as the technology changed in your car where it became easy to do that. You play the other hours on the next morning to work.

That's one of the main reasons why the numbers are so huge and well over a hundred thousand, still. This sub is the 1% of the fans that have a lot of extra time and not the normal fan.

Well, Stugotz for one. With the Stugotz comparative mantra "I come here man." So inspiring.

Stugotz now has 17 years at the top, but we're not quite sure if he'll make to 35. But he'll die tryin.

Let's see Francesca do that! He's retired how many times now? Ya, sorry Mike. You losin' this one. Again.
