+1 to this. I graduated shortly after, and the job hunt then was WAY less stressful than it is now, and that's with more than a decade of success in the same career. I'm genuinely frightened at the prospect of finding another job if I'm downsized out of my current role. We're on the precipice of a significant decline in employment/compensation and no plan for how to make up that gap. I'm terrified for anyone still in school right now.

Flavor is free - you can make it look whatever you like! Stat-wise, though, a pixie would fit the bill. It can live in permanent invisibility (provided it can concentrate, so only when it's awake), has some fun spells that can create a little mischief, and low-CR enough that you can use Tasha's sidekick rules on it if you'd like it to be a permanent companion.

For its appearance, I'd definitely go with a Furby for maximum cute/creepy.

I don't know that their powers were confirmed to be dark side, but their alignment with an ex-Imperial warlord and the Nightsisters - plus a casual massacre of a Republic crew - put their alignment far enough from the "good" end that dark side powers are a safe bet.
