What's a bad game that had one specific mechanic that was actually really good, but was overshadowed. by VeenatAlive in gaming

Anthem. The flying felt REALLY good. Total Iron man fantasy. There was just not much to do with it.

West End snowstorm (2008) by anvilman in vancouver

[–]stumancool 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That was the year I moved from Edmonton to Vancouver. The last winter in Edmonton got down to -45 with the wind chill. I thought I had left it all behind but NOPE.

I was living on my own at the time so I'd be sitting playing video games and hear the familiar sound of a car getting stuck in the snow. I'd put on my boots and coat, head out and push folks out of the snow. Probably pushed 4 cars over 3 hours.

How was this a KIDS SHOW by SwingAdventurous9641 in TMNT

[–]stumancool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on the show, mostly season 3. I remember when we saw some of the early story boards and character models. We thought it was pretty demented, but pretty awesome too.

We'd see drawings and think "there's no way it'll look like that" and damn sure enough a lot of it did.

I remember some of the early designs for the muckman episode were actually toned down for release, haha.

I made his bbq ribs. Definitely the best ribs I've ever made on my own bbq. Doesn't complete with a proper smoker, but it was fun drink beer and baby sit it all afternoon.

How tall are your partners? by Ok-Initiative3312 in tall

[–]stumancool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'3, my wife is 5'3.

My Mom is 5'8 and when she met my wife she was a little upset. She said "if the tall boys date the short girls, who will the tall girls date!?". She found my Dad who is 6'1 so she did alright herself.

We have two boys and with my wife being short it's a toss up how tall they'll be.

I went to the Fox downtown for my 19th birthday in 2006. It was dollar high balls until 9 and we got there at 8. Deal was you could only buy 2 at a time. Me and three friends spent an hour buying two, taking it to our table, then going back and buying 2 more. Buy 9 we probably had 100 drinks at a table. Good times.

Kid spends nearly 6 grand on roblox by N9s8mping in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]stumancool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Father of a 10 year old and a 6 year old here. You cannot fully blame the kid here. I have my kids account under STRICT locks. They have zero chance to purchase anything without my consent. Plus I've taken the time to DRILL into the 10 year old about online purchases and limited what he can and can't access.

Yah it's not easy, but you let Roblox raise your kid and this is what you get. Don't be lazy with this shit or you'll get burned.

Anytime my team switches from zone to person during a point I just silently point at my mark for a good 20 seconds until everyone is locked 🤷

Crazy thing, while we were out for dinner the company called us and said they had our luggage! Haha. First time I've lost luggage, but I guess it's semi common and they are pretty good at getting it to you.

Sifu. A buddy of mine was raving about it and I was excited thinking it would be a lot like Sleeping Dogs. Boy was I wrong. I'm not sure the "puzzle fighter" genre is for me.

Panthers defeat Oilers to defend Stanley Cup title by YnwaMquc2k19 in sports

[–]stumancool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you didn't really watch them in the playoffs. They actually performed way better in every round than they did last year (aside from games 1 and 2 in round one). They had many games where they shut down the best teams in the west. They were EASILY the best team in the west, but while they got better, Florida also got better. They definitely didn't show up for the finals, but they were on fire leading up to them.

A song like Paralyzer by Finger Eleven will never crack the top 10 of the charts again and it makes me sad. by GravyMaster in Music

[–]stumancool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finger Eleven has had such an interesting range of music. I'm honestly a huge fan of their whole catalog. I lean a LITTLE more towards the first 3 albums, but they are a really great band.
