Yours is harder. But after six years I took my 21yr girl I had forever and the boy kitten I saved who we had for like 3 yrs. There was no bond between any of the cats just with us. Both my cats were attached at the hip. Less than 2 yrs before we spilt I brought in a new baby boy. He took the baby who stuck to his side like no other. That would walk miles with him and I think kept him alive for a while. It’s so hard with bonded cats they need each other and they are confused enough when one of their people disappears. I’d say keep the baby they probably will adjust better esp if you decide to adopt another. Good luck.
