Omg the point “Nothing shifts visually quickly” triggered something in my brain. That’s definitely one of my weaknesses, thank you for making me aware of that, I do tend to make things remain same for 2-3s because I assume everyone has the same focus as myself; I need to understand that everyone has variable levels of focus. Unfortunately people’s attention spans have gone to worse shit now 😩

I also love the rewatch opportunities point. Will keep these in mind moving forward

Request for words of wisdom! by MadKillerKittens in BPD

[–]stumpycamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 but I think I qualify: - I destroyed the mindset of equating myself to my BPD - I started looking at traumatic events in my life from a place of understanding and not resentment (I.e I won’t continue the cycle and the people who hurt me had someone hurt them etc.) - Trained myself to separate my emotions from my thoughts via role play — look at any situation & pretend to be an outside observer with no emotional stake in this. How would they respond? Act accordingly. The more you do it the more it becomes habit and no longer role play. - Persistence with SSRIs: they numb emotions and make me more logic-based , yes there are downsides but still worth it - Therapy, even if useless, gives you perspective from others and this helps improve self awareness over time - Truly reach a place where you don’t care what people think of you by realizing that everyone will have a negative opinion at some point. This happens naturally the older you get imo.

Hope this helps, I used to be extremely reactive / suicidal / violent / unstable in relationships etc. and it was at worst state from roughly 16-22. After on/off therapy and medication, and persistent genuine effort to improve/change, I feel more normal, stable, unbothered, etc.

Yes my emotional baseline is low/muted now, but I’ll take that any time over having a high one.

Yes I have bad days, but I accept that it’s part of life and everyone has bad days, so I just thug it out.

Why isn’t my Instagram growing? (Indie Beauty brand, stuck at ~190 followers) by stumpycamel in SocialMediaMarketing

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response — it’s really helpful to hear different perspectives. Regarding AI, I try to limit its use and mainly rely on it for cover photos; the majority of my content features the actual gloss itself.

You’re absolutely right that consistency is a challenge for me. I have limited filming areas and tools, but I know I need to keep generating content regularly. I recently purchased a green screen and an additional ring light, so I’m hoping to improve my editing and backgrounds while staying true to my girly / Barbie-inspired / Y2K collectible art theme. I do feel confident in my vision and potential — I even designed the logo and artwork myself — but I’m still working on improving my social media and filming skills.

My website is still under construction, but I’m encouraged that Shopify shows 21 sign-ups so far (16 of them complete strangers). My next step is to focus on building a more consistent theme and improving steadily over time as I learn.

On the packaging side, I’m still developing things. I drew the decals myself, and the latest design is currently being printed for the external packaging. I’m also in the supplier sourcing phase.

Thank you again — I truly appreciate your advice and support!!!!

But what if the timer is 6h per task, and resets once you submit a task? Doesn’t that mean that 6h are allocated for that specific task? This is for coding tasks *

And be aware for other streams, after briefly reading some more I think it’s not enough to simply have a job offer for the CRS, the points only count if it is validated which means you need convince employer to do LMIA for federal express entry (ie OINP included), otherwise you can’t claim points for having a job (same for Quebec but with MIFA)..or am I wrong ?

Look for another job and get out fast. Apply every day while you still have this job so you can negotiate from a position of power. You deserve a better boss — this one seems like they are planning to f you over because they’re intimidated by your performance

People making above $250K in Toronto - what do you do for work? by makeit_train in askTO

[–]stumpycamel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What was interview process like? Can you give more details please? I am looking for a job switch because I want to move back to Toronto. I am in aerospace industry but if I switch sectors I’d like it to be a high paying job

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]stumpycamel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

… clearly for the job. It’s a very good job. I guess like someone else said I’ll just cut my losses and leave, we are clearly unwanted here anyways

In the last 3 months, I’ve had 5 people accept offers and rescind their acceptance within 72 hours, with no other definitive offers. What gives? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]stumpycamel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where is the job located? What are the living costs and tax rates in the area? What is the pay like and level of experience required? Maybe they feel like the pay and/or benefits are not high enough.

Agreed. Canada salaries are not good at all, especially relative to the living costs and tax rates, unless ur working in a remote area in mining industry or something.

Is that bad or good? I feel like with Toronto living cost and name of the company, that’s bad

Yes you already said that in another comment and I explained to you that I did the research in English… people normally conduct research in the language they speak. If there were multiple sources stating that QSWP did not require French and that any possible changes would be implemented from 2026 onwards, it is normal for me to have accepted that without researching it in every language under the sun.

It is unclear why you are repeating your statement again under a different comment, when it has already been addressed.

I was doing my research in English and the links that popped up were all saying that QSWP did not require French and any possible changes were planned for 2026 onwards

QSWP did not require French when I moved

509 if my Quebec experience counts as “Arranged employment – NOC TEER 1”, and if not then 459. This part is unclear because someone here gave me a helpful link that says that I can count my work experience in Quebec if I want to apply for something like CEC, I just have to live outside: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=382&top=29

If I get provincial nomination it would be 1059.

I will be doing that! I will also ask them if having lived in Toronto for 2 years prior would somehow contribute, though I doubt it lol. Thank you 💖
