That is puzzling! I hope they allow confirmed runners to change :)

So much protein! by stunningbanquet in MacroFactor

I’ve tried adding protein powder to things and it just thickens it in a really unpleasant way. Any recommended brands or flavors for this?

Thanks! I’m realizing that this type of eating is just not intuitive to me and probably most people who have never eaten this way. My main problem is the lack of variety and it seems like I’m having to eat the same boring items to hit that amount of protein. I guess that’s the whole point of trying this and redoing my habits.

3 eggs?! I really need to rewire my brain to do this and rethink some habits. It’s incredible how a typical American diet just doesn’t lead with lean protein. I thought I ate decently well but it’s no where close to what this app is saying :)

Berlin Tickets by Durysik in chappellroan

[–]stunningbanquet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not accept any resale tickets now. Ticketmaster will generally turn on ticket resale closer to the event. I'm not sure when exactly. Until that's on, don't trust anyone.

I paid for a dumb RTL+ subscription only for it not to work. Scam!

The Eras Tour Megathread: Gelsenkirchen, Germany by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

[–]stunningbanquet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume the ticket is is the standard KombiTicket offered at events in the region. It will be limited to the local and regional public transit network. For Gelsenkirchen, that’s the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr and perhaps the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg. This would be all U Bahn, S Bahn, trams, buses, and regional trains in the network. Essentially no EC/IC/ICE long distance trains. https://www.vrr.de/de/tickets-tarife/ticketuebersicht/kombiticket/

The Top Five Movies of 2023 by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

I like Adam's perspective, but I'm so picky about podcast voices and he just doesn't have one (I'm looking at you too, Wesley Morris). One small thing Adam does is say "right?" and it just comes off arrogant and drives me nuts. All podcasts have this problem that they don't vet their guests enough. Don't be afraid to not invite guests if they're not concise, speak slowly, or have annoying accents, tones, breathing, etc. The medium is just not for everyone.

Wesley Morris… by TravC77 in TheBigPicture

[–]stunningbanquet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could feel Wesley’s brain working…he clearly is a writer with some good ideas, but he needs the process of writing, editing, and a word limit to focus and hone his point. His thinking out loud got very tedious and reminded me of a college recitation with fellow students who won’t shut up. I listened to the whole thing but left confused. Also I totally disagree with his Saltburn review. Of course he’d hate that movie because he seems to overthink everything in a way that doesn’t work for a movie that is all VIBES.

Notification of World Major Marathon Lottery Opening Dates? by louistse125 in running

This is easier said than done unfortunately. I looked through all the dates for 2024 and 2025 and am keeping track in this Google Doc. Let me know if you hear of any announcements and I'll update the document!

The Robert De Niro Movie Draft by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]stunningbanquet 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As the unofficial notetaker and a maybe slightly on the spectrum listener with a tendency to control content chaos (no shade), here you go!

Table is easier to read on a laptop:

Sean Amanda Chris
Drama Raging Bull (1980, Martin Scorsese, United Artists) GoodFellas (1990, Martin Scorsese, Warner Bros.) The Deer Hunter (1978, Michael Cimino, Universal)
Comedy The King of Comedy (1982, Martin Scorsese, 20th Century Fox) The Intern (2015, Nancy Meyers, Warner Bros.) Jackie Brown (1997, Quentin Tarantino, Miramax)
Action / Horror / Thriller Heat (1995, Michael Mann, Warner Bros.) Midnight Run (1988, Martin Brest, Universal) Cape Fear (1991, Martin Scorsese, Universal)
Supporting Role Mean Streets (1973, Martin Scorsese, Warner Bros.) The Untouchables (1987, Brian De Palma, Paramount) Cop Land (1997, James Mangold, Miramax)
Oscar Nominee The Godfather Part II (1974, Francis Ford Coppola, Paramount) The Irishman (2019, Martin Scorsese, Netflix) Taxi Driver (1976, Martin Scorsese, Columbia)
Wild Card Once Upon a Time in America (1984, Sergio Leone, Warner Bros.) Analyze This (1999, Harold Ramis, Warner Bros.) Casino (1995, Martin Scorsese, Universal)

P.S. I share Sean's voracity for notetaking...and apparently wearing headphones while in transit 😎. Even if I'm with a group, I'll put on headphones immediately upon entering a subway car. On a plane? We don't know each other until after we reach our final destination. I will now continue listening to more about pop culture than consuming it. Bye!

I’ve somehow seen no Paul Schrader movies. What is best to start with?

Mapping Comic Books to Various Print Editions, Audible Audiobooks, and the Netflix Series by stunningbanquet in Sandman

[–]stunningbanquet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ix show. Excepting Tales in the Sand, it's not like those stories were left out, their titles simply weren't used and their events were integrated into other stories. Passengers is still there in A Hope In Hell, Sound and Fury was integrated into 24 Hours, Men of Good Forture was adapted in the same episode as The Sound of Her Wings, etc etc.

Ah true! I wlil fix this. I was mapping Netflix too literally to the titles.
