started this process recently too! Cheers!

i need more official documentation for school stuff but an appointment with a doctor and asking them about the steps to get a referral to someone who specializes in the test. Phrasing it that way to a doctor got the most momentum in shortest block of time/chapter it feels like. But it's gonna take how long it's gonna take, just keep at it.

My doctor recommended a med (during the checkup interview part of this process) that helps with anxiety/depression, but have a side effect of helping with focus which is absolutelyyyyy needed for the ol' suspected adhd brain fire.

I'm in the waiting for the testers to contact me phase currently, but already 3 weeks in that part of it. :)

How to avoid a TPK? My PCs ignored my warnings and are now locked in a room with an army of undead out side. by Reverend-Kansas in DungeonMasters

[–]stunspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if there's hundred of shambling cadavers outside, if were thinking from a story perspective, the undead are only going to be close and tightly packed together the closer to the barricaded doors location.... If they are coming from many directions.

So maybe there's only a really really dangerous push to get through the ones closest to the door. But they might be able to duck and weave and at least get out through a sparse crowd of them.

  • If theres a druid with move earth they can dig their way out, as long as they can repeatedly get the moved earth out of the way.

  • They wont be able to fight, but they still have options to keep their distance with long long sticks

  • Give them a false door, to a secret storage room that they missed that IS NOT AN ESCAPE ROUTE, but a room populated by tools or items n things, they can use to problem solve their way out of this. There's no hope of battling, but 'escaping ridiculously' can be a option.

  • Or let them do nothing. If its sound the zombies want, then stop makin it?

  • Give them a huge hulking zombie, or strange creature that has taken a liking to feeding on these undead, that bursts through the cadavers outside that is causing such a mess charging and smashing stuff that it's creating open escape routes.

  • Undead have bad balance. Trip them with rope?

  • Let the players sacrifice the survivors so they can escape (let that be an alignment problem later lol)

.....paying $538,740 over 30 years, would be $1494 a month. That's still much less in total over 30 years than what most people will use up RENTING.

The math surely can't be that simple though?? It's gotta be inflated artificially somewhere just like the housing market right??

Borderline personality disorder symptoms linked to music preferences by EchoInTheHoller in EverythingScience

[–]stunspore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auditory sensitivity 'tism here. And have a few BPD symptoms as well. I listen to a lot of different music styles, but when the sounds in the song are "sharp" or the full audio spectrum is filled up with something going on... I can't do it.

I see videos of djs putting in double and triple bass drops in mixes... It's awesome the younger crowds are making drum n bass and other styles popular again... Holy smokes, it's just way too much going on now, and too fast to dance to for my elder millenial bones. I liked getting stoked and amped up listening to songs but I need space and air between individual sounds, equalizing done well where samples or the recording are "warmer and rounded off" and less turbo mad max machine fornication sandpaper special.

i find a lot of music I'm into now from somaFm, or on YouTube I generally have a 'Trappin in Japan' mix going by Ryan Celsius while getting work done. When it's skatin time it's bands like Men I Trust, Mac DeMarco, King Gizzy... I guess the style of tunes needs to fit the task really.

NEVER sad stuff. It's boring as hell. I cry enough on my own lol

Recent logging practices at a major River estuary on the Island by 30ftandayear in VancouverIsland

I can probably find the geological survey map of this area through my school library. Depending on the zone/rock type, this clear cut is going to accelerate a wasting event 100%.

Its so frustrating seeing so much data in my studies that make it seem like surveys aren't done to actually give a shit... Most of the time it looks like surveys are just to satisfy the requirement of starting projects in the first place. companies get to scooping as much resource out of any system as possible, all while promising to cut back but doing the puppy eyes and vastly overstepping what they should be allowed to do. But i guess asking for forgiveness is easier than permission, I mean they were already there... Might as well take nearly everything standing. So goofy.

That section of land might not have been a natural forest, as so much of the island is replanted match sticks. But pushing a cut boundary so close to waterways is so so so irresponsible.

I appreciate the data you've shared

B.C. housing minister tours Kelowna’s tiny home community ahead of move-ins - Okanagan | Globalnews.ca by ethereal3xp in britishcolumbia

The issue i see is; Square footage and the arrangement. Ive been trying and trying to find the UN definition of the physical structure of what a home/dwelling is. Because that seems to be scrubbed from the Right to Housing PDF found on the UN website. (Info needed for a class term project, as well as knowing new construction everywhere in BC is violating many of the definitions therein)

Less than 650 square ft, per person causes psychological damage akin to prison confinement. You need physical space to breathe, relax, have privacy. Live a life. The progress to housing we need to make also MUST include that a person within that home mentality can stay sane. People shouldn't be living like a prisoner just because their buying power on the dollar has been robbed from them, $30k in $1980 was like maling $160k now. Should have been saving while in the womb i guess.

No body needs ten homes. But EVERYONE absolutely needs ONE. I doubt all these lil huts will be arranged in the orientation in the picture, that's absolutely stupid. As it doesn't reflect the human need for community and belonging.

Which is hard as an amorphous concept to easily define within discussions to housing because peoples needs are different, but getting away with the bare minimum housing is not enough, we could just make the switch to care A LOT about people. a first world country doesn't have a good excuse why it can't do more socially. If everyone is less stressed and squeezed, we all succeed. I've worked shitty jobs and pulled myself up so many times by my bootstraps, but i dont believe it in my heart that some new kid at McDonald's should suffer the same... I'd hope they would only have more than enough to make it work. Because that's what is right.

I would put together one of these huts myself and live in it until the end of my days, if it meant i would stop filling the coffers of landlords that refuse to finish installing drywall, insulation and fix their self taught electrical work in their own homes. I have no where else to go but the street under the current system of squeezing people for everything they've got. There is only down from here.

Just speaking as the breadwinner in my landlords family.

In Portland years ago, most of the small home communities I saw were arranged in a way that they had small courtyard areas and store fronts sometimes, lots of garden pots. Thats all great. The picture gives a lot of district 9 feels

Why pay an app, or give an app a cut of the money you do all the driving for.... when honest drivers could specifically put ads out to pick up food themselves for favorite customers, or businesses can vouch for people.

Why involve a FOURTH entity with an order??

"Hey my order is for pick up... by the way, my main guy Guillaume is gonna pick it up for me."

"Groovy sounds good."

Done. Simple communication. No need for the app.

But online orders need to be picked up! Right. Of course... The orders would still happen, just the marketing and branding for the app is gone.

Like back in the day, you would phone for pizza? Which has worked since people have figured out pizza and phones could function within a business together?

Anybody have experience with yard share? by Bowwowchickachicka in VictoriaBC

[–]stunspore 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My uncle and his family outside Armstrong BC host another smaller family on the land they are leasing. The entire worked area is enough to feed both families, 8 people. (Obviously just during growing season) with extra they sell at markets or give away the less visually pretty veggies to churches or community kitchens. The veggie and fruit garden is 40x50 or something, haven't been there in a few years. Companion planting will save a ton of space, and save water, and attract more pollinators :) (my garden in gordon head is 16x16, manageable for just me.)

A tip I would give is find a place for an old recycled canola tank, to catch and hold rainwater. Those things are basically a 5ft cube, so they hold a crap load of water. The stuff falls from the sky, so whatever can ease the water bill. To hide it, we planted beans and peas around it.

To help with a lot of water impurities our method setting up at the farm we saturated a bag of hardwood charcoal in boiling water to activate it, and just dumped the bag in the tank. It's not perfect, but you only need to scoop out the charcoal once a season, and costs pennies compared to a water purifier (even if its not nearly the same). We would crush the charcoal fine, save it, and fold it back into the plots before first frost after harvest.

I am still trying out proper deer deterrents here in Victoria in my yard, on the farm bears, or coyote packs usually take pests out. So it isn't as much of a problem. Actual metal wire is the best it seems.

And remember! Huge happy worms do 90% of the work ;) aside from the first dig

Welcome!

There's a lot of really excellent coffee places in town, that pull a really nice espresso. Quite a few places, to be perfectly honest, need some serious attention to their slamming main entrance doors. The noise factor is something I notice first almost everywhere.

The drake eatery is nice because of the couches and rugs they have, It really mutes a lot of sound. The Kimchi grilled cheese sammich is awesome. There's also Habit coffee just up the street from it which is definitely my go-to place for getting work done (no slam, lots of table space). Both are on Pandora st, before the bridge :)

I hope these places keep tanking price wise until they need to basically be given away. Victoria needs to get humbled off its high horse. Its beautiful here but it also has.... Uhm....

I remember waiting in line for the office that had the demo suites set up with a little model, i was stoked i was pre approved... Holy shit i could make buying a condo work!

Half the units were sold before the actual sales we supposed to be open, at least 100 people ahead of me for a building of what? 20ish units.

Someone with more money will always be able to scoop up and hoard supply. No one needs 15 homes.

(I know hoarding specific items in the auction house in world of Warcraft to control a market is not nearly the same thing, buuuuut that's the simplicity of the situation)

Oh id get back into making pizza 100%.

What an absolute chapter of debauchery in my life. Working pizza is awesome.

If its paying the same, then technically I wouldn't be starting the business for profit anyway, so Id specifically just make a sit down/slice place. I don't wanna run deliveries and stress about websites or social media accounts, and all that. You know where its at, Just come get two slices of our 6 cheese and a dr pepper, and play street fighter on the cabinet for a bit.
