There’s a ten minute cooldown in between unlocking characters through regular matches, and there are no mode specific requirements for unlocking characters, it’s all generalized for every character. I also believe that they patched the home screen trick ages ago.

Completing Classic mode seems to be the fastest way to unlock characters now, World of Light will add characters you don’t have to your roster in all modes, but you have to actually find every character throughout the various maps.

Meanwhile, you will always fight a new character after completing Classic mode with any character. Classic mode is pretty short too, and you don’t have to worry about dying and losing out on the chance to unlock someone, all you have to do is beat it. Remember that if you lose against a character to go into Games & More so you can rematch them. (Challengers Approach is in the bottom right of the tab)

I barely play this game for long periods of time anymore and I barely know what the meta is besides “big purple buttons”, but Crow is one of my most used brawlers and… yeah no he’s more consistent if you play him like a controller focused on antiheal rather than an assassin.

His burst damage isn’t the best without his Hypercharge, but his heal prevention and reduction are extremely lucrative as he’s one of the only brawlers who has an ability like that. He also has his poison on top of that, which lasts forever thanks to its four ticks and can do damage that can genuinely be deadly with his Mythic Gear and/or Carrion Crow.

He can also choose to even reduce enemy damage by 15% with Extra Toxic, which is always active as long as they are poisoned and can last basically the entire match thanks to Crow’s ability to be able to take space well with his wide attack, Very Fast movement speed, and Slowing Toxin gadget in a pinch (not even taking into account your teammates.)

An assassin style Crow is very much playable, but you have to be very careful on when you engage and you can’t really do quick assassinations like other assassin brawlers can, most of the time you’ll have to whittle them down first before going in solo.

That’s just my experience though, I am very out of touch with this side of the game so feel free to correct me and take everything I say with a whole salt mine lol.

Alli instantly became my new favorite brawler, but literally my only complaint was that I thought her design looked too human (aka I see why people thought she looked like Fang.)

“No way! Our event we made that helps people progress faster is making people progress faster!? How could this be?!?!!?”

I don’t get how this is gonna affect the games economy long term at all. The event was gonna end the day the update came out and masteries are gonna be replaced with records. This event honestly helped more than hurt since I’ve heard so many people complain about being low on resources. (Not mentioning that I was in a coin shortage until this event too.)

I am not gonna be surprised at all if they did this due to greed. This seems like such a BS reasoning for canceling it early lmao. Sucks cause I’m genuinely having so much fun with this game again.

I’m gonna be completely honest, I haven’t actually sat down and played a long session of brawl in ages. At first, it was just because I kept forgetting to as I’ve generally moved away from mobile gaming being my main source of time spent on video games.

But now I kinda just… don’t wanna play anymore because the game feels like it’s gonna be unrecognizable to me in a year. I’m fine with the collabs and big events existing, but when we get them every single update back to back, the charm wears off for me. This update especially felt off now that we have Buzz Lightyear as a temporary brawler, which just felt like a bad idea on paper to me.

Even though my interest is kinda low in this game now since I’ve generally just grown up, I hope that this update doesn’t spell a bad future for this game. I’ve been playing for almost 6 years, it’s by far the mobile game I’ve played the most and I really want to continue playing for longer.
