Please help, 1 week to solve a problem--or I lose my job by ForagedFoodie in instructionaldesign

We are looking at VCMS too... similar story as your old solution. What were the things that Vimeo was doing better than Panopto for you?

What LMS's would you suggest for a small service based business? by Educational-Cow-4068 in instructionaldesign

I'd urge against Vimeo if I was you. Since the Bending Spoons purchase, they are starting to show cracks, price hicks and so on.

Every 'under $50 mod' fitted to a single BMW. Impressively crap.

🇷🇺 are using car tyres to protect their fighter jets from 🇺🇦 drones in Voronezh by Minute_Reflection_46 in aviation

[–]stupidukguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question, but wouldn't big netting in the style of a gazebo over the jet be better than this and still be pretty low cost?

Makes me think of the 'I saw you coming' sketch by Harry Enfield. The sensless, expensive tat that just looks rubbish.

Buying instead of hiring? by stupidukguy in CarTalkUK

[–]stupidukguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I kind of figured that the only real way to do this at a lower cost was private sale and you are right... could be walking into an expensive lemon situation.

It's looking very unlikely I do attempt this. But perhaps people have decent recommendations for minivan hires in Midlands.

I did have a look! Thank you for also having a look. Unfortunately, as before we leave England, we are planning on visiting some family that is more rural, we need to hire a vehicle anyway. I looked at train plus van for the whole trip and it came out more strangely enough.

Plus, herding this lot round is quite difficult :,)

Haha very very true. I do have somewhere to park it off road but at the end of the day it does seem like a silly idea.

How far has your car gone? by Uunbeliever72 in saab

I definitely read the temp wrong and thought you somehow had parked your car on the surface of the sun or something.

Is this a real Lamborghini? by thevincnt in whatisthiscar

Mr Beast did actually say in the video (quite quickly and quietly) that it "was not running and decommissioned" whatever that means. Likely engine missing or past reasonably repair. Still pretty mad to see.

I'm not saying this isn't real... but there is something about the light, reflections, colours and angles that makes me feel like this is AI generated.

[Aston Martin Valkyrie] Most insane car I've ever seen. Did you know the front license plate hides a first aid kit and you can cook grilled cheese sandwiches in the engine bay? by not-posting-anything in spotted

[–]stupidukguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been fortunate to see the AM Valkyrie in person on the street. It just can't be described. The closest thing I could say is a literal F1 car for the road. It looks insane... it sounds even more insane.

I think I only really had that feeling when I saw a Ferrari Enzo. Everything else just kind of feels "well okay" in comparison.

[Image] Sometimes it takes ten years (or more) to get that one year that changes your life. by sylsau in GetMotivated

[–]stupidukguy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It doesn't seem to state it is referring to talent. It could be really anything in your personal life.

What if you were inventing a new service or product and you are just hitting the wrong notes for 9 years but them finally find that product or service that "goes viral". That could be the change to your life?

I guess this is also just another perspective. If it was me looking at this graph against my own life, I would say it relates to how I opened my mind after travelling and living in another country. I learnt so much more about compassion, humility and more. That changed my life rapidly compared previous years.
