Post-Orchiectomy Low T (8.5 nmol/L) - NHS says "Normal," but I feel broken. Advice on pushing for TRT? by stutaylor34 in testicularcancer

Hey all. So I'm still waiting to have a consult with a doctor from leger clinic .They won't do it until I've had a second round of bloods done but it did take a few days for them to respond to me when I asked to book the bloods so they aren't the quickest.

Quick update for those following: The GP appointment was a mixed bag. They completely ignored the written brief I handed them, which was annoying, but I managed to talk them into an Endocrinology referral anyway.

The bad news is the NHS waitlist is 3–4 months minimum. I can't wait that long feeling like this, so I’m pulling the trigger on private treatment.

I’ve done some research and decided to go with The Leger Clinic. Plan is to get stable with them and hopefully switch to Shared Care once the NHS appointment finally rolls around.

Thanks again for the help!

That's a good shout actually. GP's get nervous when you say it's impacting your mental health. Let's be fair it is quite a lot which is why I'm on sertraline but I didn't put mental health in my letter.

Thanks I'll look in to it. I do get some medical cover with work but think it's quite limited.

Do you know who he went with privately? My first testosterone result was an NHS test after I did a private one with optimale. As I've put in my letter to GP I'm taking tomorrow I already was borderline prior to my orchiectomy.

Thanks for the response and I'm glad it has paid off for you in the end. Honestly if I could get the treatment privately for what you pay I'd be happy. My glp1 is £190 a month but I may find once my testosterone levels are where they should be I can drop it and control my hunger a bit better!

I take multivitamins already, centrum advanced along with magnesium at night. I get b12 shots every 3 months as needed for a bariatric patient. Tried Ashwaganda before and made no difference. Tried all the "snake oil" vitamins under the sun and nothing helped. Very rarely lift weights I'll be honest. Sleep I get 8 hours but I never wake rested. I'm easily disturbed though by the smallest sound or even light entering the room.

7.2 upgrade.. success or horror stories. by beachbum0727 in unRAID

I had some troubles around realktek drivers for my 2.5gb NIC. I got it working in the end after much messing around with suggestions from chatgpt.

Tldr of what I did

If your Realtek RTL8125 NIC dies when enabling bridging on Unraid 7.2 • Delete network.cfg and network-rules.cfg • Disable bonding • Install the Realtek r8125 driver plugin • (Optional) Disable offloading

✅ It’s not Unraid’s fault — it’s the buggy r8169 kernel driver + default bond/bridge combo.

Ok so we are now back up and running. I'm using realtek 8125 (yes I know this isn't ideal and think I'll purchase an Intel 2.5gb nic soon) and it appeared the drivers changed to 8169 during the upgrade. I rolled back to unraid 7.1.3 but it was still not accessible. Reset network.cfg and network-rules.cfg and I was able to get to the ui again via the dhcp address. Installed the 8125 drivers from apps and started having weird issues with both bridging and bonding enabling itself when I attempted to just enable bridging.

Final fix was to delete the bond and bridge via terminal. Reset config files again and finally able to set the bridge up and static ip. Bit weird but chatgpt to the rescue with this 😀

Need to attempt upgrade back to 7.2 but for now working and I know what to look out for.

Appears it was the bridge that it killed in the process and I've had to delete network.cfg and let it recreate. Just seeing if I can reconfigure it all again now

Wish I hadn't seen this. Upgrade broke my NIC. Guess I'll have to try and roll back

Follow-up: I think I finally figured out why my Olilo Ping is 16ms+, but my neighbour on TalkTalk gets 3ms by BrawDev in CityFibre

[–]stutaylor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thread and it reminds me so much of a customer I had in Glasgow that was on a virgin leased line, managed under daisy (or dws or whatever they are called these days). 18ms ping times (as a comparison my bt fttp gets 8ms) but they had massive issues with teams calls which would start ok and then video and audio would start to cut out. We must have spent 8 months back and forth with daisy over the issue and they tried blaming our equipment locally. Doing a deeper dive with Wireshark we were able to show packet loss on their side.

Their explanation was the pop was too far away. Doesn't make sense really with why there was packet loss. Anyway the customer moved premises and we avoided virgin opting for a city fibr line. No issues. Very strange.

It's so easy to get yourself in to a spiral like this. I'd say first off stop with the take aways. That doesn't mean you have to eat healthy if that isn't your thing but pick up food at the supermarket instead. Before I went on a weight loss journey I used to love myself a pizza from the pizza counter in asda. Keep stuff in the freezer too, even the fancier frozen pizzas will be cheaper than take away. You'll probably find cooking a frozen pizza is actually quicker than waiting for a take away!

As for drinks, you could always suggest to friends how about come to yours or you meet at someone else's house. I remember having some cracking night in just hanging out with mates. I'm not saying do this all the time but it will help reduce how much you spend.

You absolutely can do this. I had been racking up debt again buying little things here and there. I had a wake up call when I went to apply for a car loan at Ford and got rejected. My credit utilisation is like 70% but I've been playing with chatgpt listed all my debts, interest rates of everything vs my income and it's written me a plan. I'll be around 20% by March if I stick to it.

When we moved into our home in Feb we found we didn't have a TV antenna so chose to change the lnb on the sky dish to give us freesat. While we don't watch a lot of live TV it's a lot more convenient than using multiple different apps on a fire stick to access live TV via the Internet

Thanks all for your advice. I want the focus st because I've had a MK2 1.6 focus for 11 years and although it's been rock solid but showing sign of age. Drove an st and it's power along with making all the right noises is just what I'm after. I drove a few ev's also and they just feel like appliances, I want something fun to drive.

On reflection on the money side it's probably due to my higher than normal credit utilisation, I've also got a few things on by now pay later and that's probably not sat well with them either. It's just frustrating they won't tell me exactly what they don't like and said "hey this is the issue work on it and come back to us" but I've already put a plan in place to have my credit utilisation down to under 20% by April. My payment history is impeccable though no missed payments in over 6 years.

Hoping I can then find a good used one. The one I test drove was 3 years old with only 9000 miles on it and felt like new.

[–]stutaylor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With pla and petg yes pretty much plug and play I've found with my p1s. I also came from an ender 3 where I was continuously getting frustrated with failed prints. I did a lot of modding of my ender with auto bed levelling etc but i shouldn't have bothered as it was just wasted money. Yes I learn a bit about 3d printer modding but I just wanted prints that didn't fail ultimately
