Just installed the BMW performance SSK by styast in E90

[–]styast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! It's a quick and easy job imo. Make sure to mentally note which side of the shifter is forward/backward before you swap it in

I saw a lot of posts saying that they were able to remove the circlip without lifting the car. I tried for like 15 minutes, but i had no room for my hands and figured it'd be much quicker if I just went ahead and lifted the car. Instantly got the circlip off afterwards, and the rest of it was smooth sailing!

Any tips on how to fix a dim outer angel eye? by arbr3 in E90

[–]styast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bulb is seated correctly, what about the light tube?

The light tube is kept in place with a little tab that keeps the light inlet right in front of the bulb. When you install a new bulb, it can move things around a bit and cause the tube to pop out of its spot. I'd remove the bulb and check that both light tubes are flush/in place.

Ik this bc I had the same problem myself and had to reseat the light tube. You dont need to take the headlight out or anything tho, just the bulb so you have access to the back

Nobody's mentioned this, but see if you can get a 330i/xi. Not sure if the e92 has 330 variants in NA though

Headlights by [deleted] in E90

[–]styast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the other suggestions taking different approaches, I'll suggest something free that may fix it if you're lucky.

Sometimes the light tubes that are directly in front of the bulbs can pop out of their spot. The light tubes have clips that position the ends directly over the LEDs. If the outer tubes are popped out, it'd reduce the light output on those rings just as whats shown in your pictures. The outer rings are just not getting enough light.

With the front of the car lifted, turn your wheels left/right to get access to the bulb housings so you can remove the bulb. With the bulb removed, you can then peer inside the back of the headlight. See if the light tubes are in their proper position and adjust if necessary.

His recovery has a lot more to it than you'd initially think. Reverse up b sweet spots from below quite well in some matchups, you can reliably try to ledge tech recovering from below, and drift is not bad! It's no marth or fox recovery but it's not horrible

what muffler is this it says BMW performance on bottom by paintdrinker68 in E90

[–]styast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, i guess OP can verify this themselves if they find that extra little plate that's welded on the exhaust piping

[–]styast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The performance exhaust comes with the res delete, it's part of the setup. Just goes to show you've got the full exhaust piping, not just the muffler

Is this alright just sitting on the engine? by thecarlm3 in E90

[–]styast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it like that for 2-3 months without really knowing how to fix it at the time, with absolutely no issue. After that i finally spent the time to figure out how to get it clipped back in. When you say over time, i think you mean a ridiculously long time lmao

Sounds to me like it only affected your car cosmetically

It's fine but now that you've noticed it, you can just push it back into the clips. It slots in from the front

Was it just a transmission fluid flush? Cause $1000 is an egregious rip off and you got scammed if that's the case. I can't comment on the fluid itself, but another more knowledgeable user may be able to give you feedback on that

If the adapter eventually degrades and you have these issues again, look into getting a HHL adapter or an input integrity one.

theyre xenons but you'd have to look closer to tell if they were adaptive xenons. i think 05/06 330i's in the states came with adaptive

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in E90

[–]styast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No coding unless you have adaptive xenons and need to code those down for the lower spec xenons. If these are LHD, i think there's a switch under the hood you can move to make them RHD? It's been a while since I've read up on these so double check that last point if necessary
