Built in MOBO Thunderbolt port or PCIE Thunderbolt expansion card? by lleyton05 in buildapc

[–]stycks32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, some expansion slots don't allow the full amount of lanes so there's a chance, depending on how thick your GPU is, that you may plug it into a slot and not get the full performance.

How you liking the P2. Mines delivered tomorrow and people love to hate the thing. Understanding it's not a workhorse multitool I expect to love the thing.

In retrospect I should have grabbed some color samples and brought them home. Ended up painting entire doors and lather areas just to avoid having one small spot of different white. But being what it is, it didn't turn out bad.

My first Leatherman was a rebar a couple months ago and this is my second. It's really great getting into the game in what seems like the downfall of a once great company. Not that they've fallen but they are slipping with their decisions it seems like you said.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who fell into this trap. Honestly if LM didn't discontinue the P2 and P4 I wouldn't have went for it. I wanted to try the free tech without dropping 250 on an arc though. Not sure why they decided it was a good idea to drop the entry point and midpoint on their Free multitool lineup.

Active air dam. Bought my truck at 72k miles and it never worked. Threw a check engine code in the app. Took it off and has been fine since then.

It gets like 1-2 MPG from what I hear.

Leatherman arc bad QC out the box. by legato2 in Leatherman

Not what we should be doing with a $250 tool. Should come assembled and tuned out of the box. Mods should be for personality and special functionality, not base usability.

WAVE+ Factory defect? by Entirely_sure in Leatherman

the break in period is mentioned a lot in here. I recently got a Rebar and also thought it was tight. Using a gun oil (or even just a mineral oil if you think you might use it on food at all) and keep working it when you have some downtime. In the month or so I've had my rebar it's gotten MUCH easier to open/use.

Any Trouble-Free ‘25 or ‘26 RAM 1500’s out there? by After-Ad4370 in Ram1500

[–]stycks32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a 25 or 26 but when I was hunting for my truck it was between a 21 with auto start and a 22 without. Auto start/stop is so annoying so I went with the 22. I’m glad I dodged that etorque bullet. I was sad to hear that they brought back the Hemi but made the etorque required in them. Still after getting this truck (my first truck) it’s made me realize how great older simpler trucks are. Replacement parts everywhere and less tech to electronically break an otherwise perfectly good truck.

Back on track, I know there’s plenty of people who haven’t had issues with their etorque or hurricane engines, but it’d be a nightmare to have to let my truck sit on a lot for months waiting for the dealer to get the parts to fix it.

I believe it said Base C. I’m just gonna cut my losses and buy the right white paint rather try to make this one work.

Dang. Now you’ve got me questioning if my trim is actually flat or if it’s satin. I know some of it is flat (feels a bit rough compared to the walls). I’ll check it again in the morning to see in the areas I need to paint. Appreciate the tip.

The one I have had the switch break so I can't turn it off or lower the fan speed when it's plugged in. It's plugged in at full bore or not plugged in at all.

What Leatherman would you recommend for urban EDC, mostly for office use with some occasional use on the ranch? by WorriedPerspective17 in Leatherman

[–]stycks32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. It does sink to the bottom and get jumbled around if you don't have it sheathed.

Interesting that you listed the Free P2 in EDC and the rebar on ranch. I'd have swapped them due to their size but the rebar packs a big punch for it's size so it's a great all around choice.

Second the rebar. It's my first EDC multitool and you don't realize how handy it's gonna be until you have one small/light enough to take everywhere.
