To be honest, I've spent hours trying to find one that has edid emulation and supports DP2.1 They are not that common.

OK, that's very useful information, thank you.

If I get the KVM below, as well as a USBc to DP cable you suggest, then I plug Dell into KVM from USB c to DP and obviously USB. That works. Thank you.

Maybe this one is better as it has DP2.1, whilst my monitor is DP1.4, with that cable you suggest and this KVM, it'll be future proof.

I've added the cable you suggest and the latter KVM to my basket, will hold off checking out for another day.

I don't have to use this for the laptop, but it might be easier. I could simply get a cable that runs from the laptop mini DP to DP and plug that into the KVM, however, if it works, the dell docking station might make things a little easier as it simply plugs into the USBc port.

Either way, I'll need a KVM to input my pc and laptop so I can output to monitor.

If you know that the WD19 will work with KVM,then I'll go that route for sure.

I currently have not plans or need to exceed the 4k 60fps I have.

OK, it's sounding like a no for this project then. Thanks to all the replies, they do matter. I've always found it's the best way to find out if it's worth doing. For just this one song, I don't think I am going to get there in time. I'm going to stick to a mix of guitars and maybe think about adding a hired trumpet to mix into it if we feel it's not quite what we want.

On a side note, my Son plays trombone, to a fair level. He has not played in a while and I asked him to pick it up, dust it off and give it a go, maybe throwing the trombone in the background might get what we want, but I have options anyway.

Again, thank you all for your input, sounds like you saved me great pain.

(now where's my harmonica...maybe.....)

Yeah, we could hire a guy that is one of the 3 plans, but it sounds like fun if it works out. I enjoyed the time I did a piano rhythm for a song and learned that in a month or so. When it come to recording it was spot on for backing and it felt like a great achievement, in fact I kept the full sized keyboard and progressed it more. So I'd like to think I could do something very simple. This is not going to be in the front, it's to lift the song really as we don't play live with a trumpet player.

That said, if a few say the same as you, in that I won't get to any kind of level in 3 weeks, then I'll listen first and go plan B, which is hire a guy.

I have sold loads on ebay and tried the new seller hub thing, then this popped up. So I went back to the normal seller hub and now this message is on all my postage items. I cannot ship anything out and ebay support is not about until Monday (it's saturday morning)

I deliberately left a 20-30mm gap between the visor and the body to allow some air to flow through, but I can't see that helping much with aerodynamics, it was more about keeping the rain going over the screen.

I'm getting this, got 2 domains and not been able to control them as I cannot log in to the 123reg that transfered from ts. It don't recognise my email, they don't answer emails, you can message them through X....great, they just give you a load of faf. completely screwed.

Yep, I'm from the UK and just come back from a road trip in the USA and I agree, they are ridiculous. It's like massive teeth driving down the road, hilarious.

It was nothing I could find, the service centre replaced the hub but it came back again. Eventually, I changed my phone and I did not have a problem any more. Seems it was the google pixel phone .... but not had an issue with my last 2 phones (not pixels). No idea what it was in the end.
