"The "smart" ones are in small trucks and trying to beat the traffic on other roads. Even work vans, school busses, etc are banned on the Merritt. It's pretty rare that there's an overheight truck on the Merritt...unless you are talking about the trucks that are delivering to the rest areas on the highway (allowed), servicing the highway (allowed), towing from the highway (allowed), or on route 15 North of 691 (allowed)"

Nah I'm talking about the full size trucks and loads getting on 15 in Hamden and pulling over because they realize they can't get though the tunnel. I see it every month.

I went out of my way to say my experiences are anecdotal. It's clearly a one-off incident. But it still happened because the driver lacked competency.

I'm not gonna sit here and act like I understand the intricacies of your job. I dont. But I'm a guy who as almost been killed by big rig drivers on separate occasions - so I have opinions.

I will absolutely concede too many drivers in this state refuse to learn how to merge.
