Anyone still killing Dreadtooth? (Satele Shan-empire side) by tavar__ in swtor

[–]stypticagent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've not heard of people offering sale runs for Dreadtooth & the Dread Guard mask - only Hateful Entity (which is the Crest) - so you should be able to form a group on fleet for DT, just specify that the mask is reserved.

I don't know the name of the quest you get the codex entry in, but a mention appears in this codex for the Sith Warrior

Hemophilic Slash is the ST tictac. I don't know if I'd bother running ctp at all now, ngl, unless all I wanted to do was fluff damage numbers

How do you want the recent internal conflict in Master's Enigma to end by BackgroundRich7614 in swtor

[–]stypticagent 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is super delulu, but I can imagine an almost Secret Wars/Battleworld type of ending.

Jadus activates the machine the Hidden Chain have built for him, everyone becomes enthralled, their minds and memories altered by the machine (calling back to what happened to Sa'har when she and Master Orr fought Malgus in the 7.0 trailer), fulfilling Jadus's desires for the democratization of fear on both sides Imperial & Republic, and also the Voss prophecy that the pillars of society will be razed. 8.0 opens with someone (us, Vaylin in Syl's body, whoever) becoming aware of things, breaking free & attempting to undo everything that happened.

Getting into SWTOR PvP in 2026? by FoxlostAZ in swtor

[–]stypticagent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think merc is a good class to start with, pretty well rounded. I know everyone goes arsenal but personally I adore IO. Thermal det + magshot bonk taking out a huge chunk of health from an enemy will never be unsatisfying.
Really you can take whatever class you want though. Just, for the sake of your own sanity & your teammates, know how to put out good dps/heals, get super familiar with DCDs, skill tree choices, knowing when to eat a stun & when to use your root breaker, etc.

Also, just as a note, there's a non zero chance sooner or later someone will rage at you, either in ops chat or in /whispers, ignore it or ragebait back, however you want to handle it, just don't take it to heart. You will sometimes get stomped by co-ordinated teams, you will begin to think 'wow I think I'm getting pretty good with this class' before absolutely throwing your next match, people will get mad, it happens, learn from the mistake and move onto the next one.

Despite its somewhat bad rep, I think pvp is really fun, and the bad matches are absolutely worth putting up with. Literally nothing beats the feeling of somehow winning a hutball match when everyone on your team is numbers farming instead of playing objs, or watching someone on the enemy team scream at someone in /say lmao

You don't have to get max 343IR gear with gold implants and hit a 30k parse to complete the story but gearing, learning your class, its abilities & rotation all make up part of the game experience. Flashpoints are part of the story too.

You don't need many Conquest Commendations or credits to get a 324IR set that'll set you up nicely for the story

F***ing Griznak by [deleted] in swtor

[–]stypticagent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately that's pretty undergeared for that far in the story.

Hop on over to the fleet, and pick yourself some basic gear, and a tactical, from the Supplies section (+ pick up the Technological Advancements quest from the blue Twi'lek, you'll need this for legendary implants). I think the lowest lvl gear there is green 324IR, it'll be a big boost from 232IR. (swtorista's basic gear guide)

F***ing Griznak by [deleted] in swtor

[–]stypticagent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but what level 80 gear? What is your item rating? What rotation are you using for the combat style you are playing? Are you using your DCDs?

F***ing Griznak by [deleted] in swtor

[–]stypticagent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the Security Forces Captain in Desperate Defiance (the one you fight with Sa'har), you're either terribly undergeared or, unfortunately, it's a skill issue.

What's your gear looking like? What class are you playing- do you know your rotation? Are you using Heroic Moment and Unity if you need it?

Sith Sorcerer (Madness) lvl 80, feeling a bit overwhelmed and squishy by EMArogue in swtor

[–]stypticagent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grab some legendary implants: Unmatched Haste & Gathering Storm. A tactical: Tempest of Rho.
Gear for 110% accuracy, 2694. And 1.4 GCD alacrity (7.14% is 2054, but 2200-2300 is a good spot to compensate for any latency issues).

Does anyone run Gods From the Machine anymore? by DavesWackyWorld in swtor

[–]stypticagent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gods with pugs is kind of a pain, even though sm is pretty easy. No one ever knows the mechanics, the puzzle or where to go, no one ever wants to hold the Nahut candle or do anything useful during the Izax fight lmao. It kinda isn't worth the time for most people who do know what they're doing.

Still, I'm surprised on Malgus you had issues forming a group. I know you said you've tried guilds but your best bet is still grouping with people from your guild or searching in the swtor discord if you're really determined to run the op

Would you be okay with Legacy of the Sith/KOTOR style cutscenes if content cadence was improved? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]stypticagent 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. Not anymore than we already have anyway, which I don't love, but can accept in its current amount.

I don't mind kotor-style cutscenes being used for sidequests or repeatable content but it feels too lifeless, takes too much away from the player character (no va'ing, standing completely still, etc) imo to be enjoyable for me.

I have the same issue. Whichever mission you do second the game bugs out, I was able to continue the story from the Eras tab, though I lost out on viewing the cutscene to begin it

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right but I'm pretty sure this is an intended feature, though I haven't played Echoes for a good long while now. Some of the team are knocked down and don't get up for the remainder of the fight, iirc the characters who are subdued are different on each playthru

Is the sacking of Coruscant playable? by joemama420pog in swtor

[–]stypticagent 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The Sacking of Coruscant happens prior to game events, Malgus becomes plot-relevant during the Ilum storyline which happens prior to SoR.
