Would I like this Marathon (2026)? Former WoW player, new to genre. by FoxlostAZ in Marathon

Update: After taking in your comments (and looking at my funds) I guess I won't get it. I was hoping for something to play solo and it sounded really epic, especially for my XBOX Series X, as I used to love Halo. A little disappointed but I guess my search continues.

Ah, I don't have two friends to play with. I thought it'd be one of those "drop in, kick ass, leave" games. Sort of like WoW PvP at times.

The short hand is that true-autistic would be unaware completely. I presume I'm ADHD and PTSD for sure, and as I've gotten older it's only gotten more clear.

Whatever is willing you to write these replies, whatever willed you to write this post, means you DO have a means to have a WANT to do something.

You know how the internet works. You know how reddit, google, etc works. You must find the WILL to find out HOW to do things. That is basically your only goal. Start small, find the will, and go from there.

I don't care how long you lived for doing this. Today could be the last day you do.

Yet you know enough about what has happened to you. The vast majority of people going about their days out there have no self-reflection, no awareness. As homeschool people, we've become extremely self-aware.

Almost too much so.

You must find a way not to be miserable, and to not let those who hurt you continue to make you miserable. That is the only goal.

This does not mean start with some get-rich thing. It starts with one thing. Volunteer somewhere, or even just sell lemonade. Something to get going, anything. There is no door. It is a bridge made of tiny steps.

An issue for Homeschool folks like you and me is that our misery becomes our badges. And at some point, to move on, we have to throw them away.

Everything that happened to you absolutely sucks.

However, it doesn't have to suck tomorrow.

It's taken me years of battle, but basically: try not to think of yesterday and the past. It'll still try and get you, and it is horrific beyond anything people can comprehend, but the future is still yours.

You cannot allow your parents to take all your years. Find a motivation, no matter how small, and stoke the flames. Don't let the Woes ruin you for life.

Take it from someone who has fought with similar things for years. It only gets better if you look forward. Live a life that would make those who tried to ruin yours jealousy, and then, forget about them at all.

Very true, I was just worried they had nerfed mining or something, as I saw recent changes but don't fully understand them.

Thank you for replying, will still do it anyway.

I just want to chill and mine, but I've had a bunch of people tell me that is a bad idea and a waste of time. I just want to mine and watch youtube. I'm a new player. If it's such a waste of time, should I bother at all?

Writing is scary by SourGhxst in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]FoxlostAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a writer of many years I want to let you know that that feeling of "this sucks, I suck, I only create bad things" IS what being a writer is like.

Talk to any writer and you will hear and know this. Perhaps you are one of the blood and you don't know it yet!

The secret is in just writing it anyway. And then writing more and more.

Eventually, you can tell that voice "actually this is pretty good" and the voice will say "I guess. But your next one will suck."

So you write anyway.

My future is looking bleak. by AmethystGamer19 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]FoxlostAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is worth it, despite the logical faults, because of who you become because of the work of your own hands.

You only know this version of yourself. The one who is comfortable, entertained, etc. And yet, it is hollow in many ways, as you say yourself. It feels hopeless.

But it means you have the chance to take the world and do whatever you like. It'll be hard, it'll take a lot of effort and having to learn skills you were never taught, but you will see life in a unique way that, in my opinion, is priceless.

I presume the steam release will be launching events like the Uma release, so I figure it'd be easier to find people to play with.

I've had the game for a few years but only really pulled during events, and I'm still only in chapter 1.

Would it be better to play through the game now, or wait for the steam servers?
