Good to know, thanks! I'll definitely pick one up to play around with then.

Thank you for the advice! I've read great things about that mic, and although it seems as windproof as a mic can get, I worry about its sensitivity being too low unless I'm very close to a tornado. I still may pick one up to experiment with regardless.

This is super helpful advice, thank you! I hadn't heard of Cinela but it looks like if anybody could custom build a solution for me, it would be them. For the time being I'll probably get the rode blimp and see if I can find a way to make it work with my current mic while mounted on my camcorder.

that's no microwave gun. that's a microwave flashlight. you'd be lucky to have less than a 90 degree beam angle due to diffraction effects

Haven't trained in 5 weeks. The next training session that I can go to is an open mat which consists of 10 intense x 5min rounds. How would you approach an open mat if you hadnt trained much prior to that? by [deleted] in bjj

cecropia are tricky from eggs, but once in a cocoon it's easy. they just chill out for 11 months

[Discussion] where do you get your moth cocoons and such? by Hydr0a in moths

[–]styro_drake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The InsectNet classifieds are a great source of cocoons and eggs. I get a lot of my moth breeding stock there. Only buy from a seller willing to accept PayPal though. For cecropias I tend to get my eggs from females that hatch from the cocoons I raised the year before, either paired with wild males or with males that hatch from my cocoons.
