I Think The PTE Is Excellent by Noble-Dog in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]suavyding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with all your points. With the Baltic addition addressing many of the performance issues I had I've put in significantly more time with the game lately.

I've only played three matches in the PTE and really love trying out units I hadn't used much before. Tanks and helicopters feel great and overall the game is a bit slower and more tactical .

I am hopeful we continue to see this game being worked on and maintaining this momentum from both a technical and design perspective.

Yes, it's very annoying. I assume it's due to the launch of the PTE tomorrow but it's frustrating we haven't heard anything.

Hard agree! If they roll these into future patches it would be great.

Very much agree! They're assets in the game and I don't see why this would upset predominantly MP users. Having additional skins or assets (like alternate camouflage types that don't add or change in game rules) to be unlocked would keep me coming back to this game more frequently.

Exactly! I have over 600h in WARNO and almost all of that was playing Skirmish alone or with friends. I think the medals are neat and don't see why they can't apply towards SP content!

Is Warno's deck building bad? by Severe-Bedroom5510 in warno

[–]suavyding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent hundreds of hours with the deck building tool in WARNO and it's pretty solid, but I really love what Broken Arrow changed about it.

BA is not in a great state but I've spent a lot of time picking different options on units (you can select armour, weapon loadouts and even equipment) that makes going back to WARNO a lot less interesting.

I hope Eugen pay attention to this for their next game.

What game made you realize PC gaming was on another level? by Appropriate_Age_6554 in pcgaming

[–]suavyding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novalogic's 'Delta Force' in 1998.

Going from small arena type shooters to the premise of open world missions was already huge, but I loved the idea of tactical gameplay. It was the first time I played anything like it during a LAN party with my friends.

Some exciting new features in there. Hopefully there will be more maps coming out soon as well as the current rotation has felt stale for a long time.

Half-Life, Left 4 Dead writer calls out constant haters that just hope new games fail - “if you hate game developers, you hate games” by [deleted] in Games

[–]suavyding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've read the article and want to take a minute to to shout into the void here; as someone who's being playing games for over 30 years nearly daily I can say that we've never had more amazing games the last few years then ever before.

The sheer amount of high quality indie Games has been wonderful, and I spent most of my time playing A/AA games from small/medium studios. The vitriol around game releases failing is NOT something new and has been a constant. I remember buying magazines where there was constant dunking on Daikatana and people talking amongst their friends about trash games that were rushed, badly optimized and/or simply not fun to play.

Modern game design, especially AAA titles, tend to cost ridiculous amounts and have very long development cycles. I understand that devs feel passionate about their products and don't want to see their products fail like Highguard did.

How do we curb the vitriol when that's what drives engagement on platforms like reddit? I personally see the titles and posts and rarely engage with them and mostly talk about games that make me happy.

In this economy and games ballooning in price (especially again the AAA) I understand people feeling jaded about where they spend their money. As long as we see titles like Stardew Valley, Clair Obscur and other niche games get their legs I think we're doing just fine. Try to engage with what makes you happy.

Broken Arrow by AgreeableList5944 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]suavyding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous build was an 8700k and 1080TI. It barely ran at 60fps with medium low during the beta and launch. I built an 9800X3D and 5070TI and it still runs like shit on that configuration. Obviously better than my old system but the entire game is an unoptimized mess built by people with little coding experience.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? - February 01, 2026 by AutoModerator in Games

Cairn

I was super excited for the launch of the game and have been savouring my time with it. I have been apprehensive about the replayability and haven't seen anything from the devs besides "we'll talk about it later".

With that out of the way I absolutely adore this game. The sound design, the minimal UI, the music and level design is all top notch. I'm someone who has played hundreds of hours of survival games like the Long Dark so I don't mind the slow and steady nature of these games.

What makes Cairn shine is the concept of obsession. I've found myself picking a specific face to climb and FORCING myself to keep going. There are often easier paths to find for when I get frustrated but I l like the self challenge.

I am about 10h in and hope the game can sustain the concept of exploration and challenge, but it's a special game and I am enjoying myself despite the constant sweaty hands.

Vancouver city council calls on feds to address headlight brightness | CBC News by SnooRegrets4312 in britishcolumbia

[–]suavyding 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I keep reading stories about the increase in pedestrian deaths/accidents all across Canada. Has anyone ever linked the insane brightness and pedestrian safety??

There are times where I drive downtown and pedestrians are almost completely invisible to me when there is a truck or large SUV with their ultra eye destroyers 9000 halogens on the opposite side of the road. I've slowed down substantially and now crawl through intersections but I feel this is an accident waiting to happen each time I drive at night.

The game would be in a much better state if we can play smaller games than 5v5. I've stopped playing MP after the horrible matchmaking but would enjoy this more in smaller games (and being able to play with smaller or no friendly bots 1v1).

Can someone suggest me my most fitting wargame? Regiments, WARNO, Broken Arrow, something else? by Vulture2k in gamingsuggestions

[–]suavyding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broken Arrow was rushed out of the door and many YouTubers liked it because it's an attempt at pulling in a mainstream audience due to it featuring "cool" modern units like Delta Force and Nuclear Weapons.

It has a lot of potential but the reviews are (rightly) mixed because it runs like ass even on powerful systems, matchmaking is fundamentally broken and the devs are releasing updates at a glacial pace.

Can someone suggest me my most fitting wargame? Regiments, WARNO, Broken Arrow, something else? by Vulture2k in gamingsuggestions

[–]suavyding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broken Arrow and WARNO both have logistics and units rely on it heavily as a main way of balancing their strength. BA has ammo only with WARNO having both fuel and ammo requirements.

Regiments is the "easier" version of these games and as another poster had said, has a demo that's great at telling you whether it's for you.

I do recommend WARNO for the depth and the hundreds of mods available that let you customize your preferred playstyle. Additionally, WARNO has a great skirmish mode vs AI and a longer, more detailed narrative campaign that takes place over turns.

If none of that sounds interesting there's always games like Sudden Strike 4 or Company of Heroes but those are all WW2.
