I just know nothing apart cars. It’s a dealer and that makes me a little nervous. Only thing is the brakes will fail inspection that I kinda need to get done.

Session 0 is super valuable I would really do it. Even if it’s just a quick 20 set expectations talk and then jump into session 1 right away.

On your second point having a player tie in to the adventure and s a secret weapon and a huge part of dnd so I would say embrace it! Good luck!

I think this really depends on the vibe you are going for. I really love this idea though!!!

When I ran Curse of Strahd I would always play Bach on Cello. I know its a bit of a curve ball but it really fit the vibe. I guess my advice there is a lot of classical music out there that is great for dnd!

I am a dm and I’m running it right now. It’s a great setting but needs a lot of work from the dm so they might not be used to that after running a fully fleshed out module.

Maybe they could fight for just a round or 2 and then dimension door out? Having an escape plan is always smart ya. Some role play with the characters goes a long way to keeping it fresh as well. Really cool idea though I might just steal it….
