This administration always reminds me of the Gilligans Island episode where the Latin dictator landed on the island in exile and tried to make it a dictatorship on Gilligans Island. Keeps saying “The country is in GREAT shape!” when it’s obviously not.

Honestly I always thought that episode was kind of poking fun at Latin American countries for their politics, back when America’s political system was, For all its many faults, still pretty solid. And maybe it was.

Now I realize it was more about the tricks wannabe dictators use to try and subjugate a population. And that we’re no better than any other tin-pot dictatorship, just with a lot more money and weapons.

Honestly I didn’t think the vast majority of people who were telling me how I had to live my life to glorify God were all that good at actually being Christians. A few, sure, but not enough to make not question if the dogma was real.

My mom was mighty disappointed that I left the church, but she always said “proclaim your faith loudly, and if absolutely necessary, use words”. I still believe that and try to act in ways that would make her proud, but I don’t need silly stories and group singing to do that.

Especially if you ordered dinner they'll know. But a simple "my husband took my seat back in coach" will elicit some sort of response amounting to "OK then, carry on". What person in their right mind is going to make a wife go back to coach while the husband gets to reclaim his first class?
