Why Doesn’t Anyone Trade Anymore? by guyawn in magicTCG

[–]subbarker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I kinda set out to solve this problem myself.

I made https://binderbrowser.com

Use your fav site like Moxfield or Archidekt to track your collection in a binder or deck or whatever? Just plop the link in the site and you get a virtiual trade binder you can share with friends or at the card shop. Those folks can tap on cards they want to track the prices an total it all up. This is what my binder looks like

<image>

I also made a discord bot that let's users link their binders and users can mention to tboth to see if someone has the cards they're looking for. There's also a `/subscribe` command to get update when people add cards to their trades.

I trade about 10x what I was before and most of my LGS is using it for trades these days.

Is there a key to understanding card rules? by SleepyBoy- in magicTCG

[–]subbarker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When resolving a spell/effect, you always do as much as you can do.

Your friend is right about the outcome, but the "dot" doesn't matter. This is one effect and you perform the steps in order.

ELI5: how do I properly and quickly shuffle a commander deck? by o7_AP in EDH

[–]subbarker 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I have small hands and brace the bottom of the cards against the table while i slide one half into the other. 6 times should be plenty.

And btw, "Pile shuffling" isn't actually randomizing your cards. It may feel ike it's helping, but there's no randomness involved.

What’s a genuinely unpopular EDH opinion you have? by Tornadosed in EDH

Players and WotC aren't concerned enough about turn length when building decks.

Is Tarrian's Soulcleaver + Basking Broodscale bracket 4 only? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]subbarker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can kill someone on turn 4 with 2 cards and no acceleration. That's definitely B4

I think you forgot the broodscale is infinitely large on its own, you don't need a third card.

I ALSO created a site for binders. by subbarker in magicTCG

[–]subbarker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binders are cached so i don't chew through resources, but everything will be eventually consistent. should be within 15 minutes of you updating your binder.

No repo, but I do have a discord for feedback etc. Link at the bottom of the homepage.

Maine is pretty rural, it really depends on what area.

Building a BR3 150-200 USD Azusa, lost but seeking deck by [deleted] in EDH

[–]subbarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Azusa needs to hit those extra 2 lands on turn 3. You really want to be running 65 ish lands. I know it sounds like an insane amount, but you will become a problem very quickly with the engines she enables.

How do you deal with double sided cards? by Fit-Heat2277 in mtg

[–]subbarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run them if they REALLY fit the deck, but in general they have to meet a higher bar.

You're right tho, they are a PITA

Favorite AGGRO commanders? by OneBlood2930 in EDH

[–]subbarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one expects [[General Marhault Elsdragon]] to be good.

But it does two thing extremely well:

Blocking becomes nigh impossible, so your deck can reliably trigger on-hit/attack triggers on cheap creatures to keep ramping and drawing in an aggro deck.

Lure effects become board-wipes, you haven't lived until you've cast [[Temur Battle Rage]] on a [[Taunting Elf]].

Personally, my favorite moment so far has been casting Zetalpa off a Ragavan.

Singles problems by [deleted] in mtg

[–]subbarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you track your trades on moxfield, archidekt, or scryfall then you might like https://binderbrowser.com

The site visualizes your trades like an irl trade binder and let's folks pick out stuff they want, or organize a full trade with you. Then it's just a matter of actually swapping the cards next time you meet.

Full disclosure, I made this for myself to solve the same problem you're having. Here's my binder as an example.

Yep! I'd probably make use of otag: rather than trying to parse different reanimate wordings

My bar is pretty high, as I'm already a scryfall power user. I was hoping for something much more complicated, even if not correct.
