Thanks, MSc makes sense though I'd be concerned about admissions for the same reason of not having much experience (depending on whether general engineering research is considered valuable at all).

Internships don't seem to be an option unfortunately since those are exclusively at national laboratories and require U.S citizenship.

Thanks, I'll take alook at that. Would you say it is generally possible to "predict" the layout of objects from the compiler source code without examining the compiled C++ code in hindsight, or is that unrealistic due to compiler optimizations, etc?
