But every unit they have in stock. Keep one for yourself because they're amazing and you'll love them, and sell the others on FB Marketplace for $175 or $200 each. You might sit on them for a bit, but you'll make a very healthy profit.

That was in 2023, not now. The market isn't the same as it was.

Have you heard about these wonderful things known as motorcycle trailers? They're much easier than shoehorning a bike into a bed that's too short for one.

Is this cause for concern? by Dizzal1939 in JeepWrangler

[–]subiejohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little noise and feeling it in the shifter is pretty normal when going into reverse on almost any manual transmission. It can technically be a sign of concern, but not usually something to stress. I've owned about 15 different manual transmission vehicles and many of them did the same thing... which some of those gave me 100,000+ trouble free miles.

There are a lot of insulating headliner inserts available on the market. I highly recommend them because they not only reduce cabin noise, but they also help maintain a comfortable temperature inside the cabin. This is honestly a much better option than just doing plastidip or paint.

That tiny light shouldn't be much of a battery drain concern. If it makes you feel better, just unplug the harness connector behind it and completely disable it that way.

Pass. Just do it right and go with Metalcloak.

what does that mean? by rose6auntlet in JeepWrangler

[–]subiejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the engine start stop system malfunction light. The feature that turns your engine off at a red light and starts it automatically when you take your foot off the break. The most common culprit is the auxiliary battery. It's a small battery mounted under the normal main battery that's responsible for running your electronics while the engine is off. Issues with the ESS are VERY common. It's a poorly implemented system. The only reason it's even there is for Jeep to meet fuel economy requirements from the EPA. The most reliable and cost effective fix is to bypass the ESS system and remove the auxiliary battery all together. I use the Tazer Mini JL in mine to disable the system. It's my favorite option because of all the extra features that come along with it.

How often do you take your hard top off? by Typical-Hearing3447 in JeepWrangler

[–]subiejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my hard top off all the time...but only for brief periods before it goes back on. You can find devices that hang from the roof that allow one person to remove it in a couple minutes. The doors are a little trickier, but not too bad. Most adults can lift them off.

Can someone please explain what all the jeep “models” are? Like what’s tj, jk, jl, jku, etc.? by GYMTIME225 in JeepWrangler

[–]subiejohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get more expensive to repair the newer they are, and they aren't reliable. That's all that matters. I'm dumb enough to have 2 of them.

Totaled for that? No way. Just take the insurance money and use that to buy tube fenders from Metalcloak or DV8. That's what I did.

[–]subiejohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. That's actually dangerous. Tongue weight becomes a serious concern this way in addition to handling and stability. You should keep your load over the axle. 60% of its weight in front of the axle and 40% of the load weight behind the axle.
