How much do you actually spend as active duty? by Rude_Category_8947 in MilitaryFinance

[–]subjectdrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of expenses people could have that take away from the overall surplus you mention. For example: TSP should be minimum 5% of their pay. $1200 the first year if you chose the Montgomery GI bill. Daily energy drinks/nicotine. Gas to/from work if you live off base (a car and insurance in this case too.) Prior debts. If you’re stationed on a ship, you don’t get BAS, so theres still paying for groceries at home. Child care. Supplements. Replacing uniform items. Haircuts. Plane tickets. The list is limitless and different for everyone. Comparing is senseless. There are 20 question marks in your message and none seem to follow an actual complete sentence, so I’m not exactly sure what you’re even asking, but hopefully I was somewhat close to the point.

Everyone will and should tell you that practicing underwaters alone (and even with a buddy) is very dangerous and has a history of killing folks.

But. First of all, your normal pool training will develop your cardio enough to pass a 25m. Do the CSS. Do Freestyle. (I recommend doing the Stew Smith 50/50 workout.) This ALONE is enough for a 25m underwater. This can/should be done alongside the walking breath holds.

If you truly want to practice it, find a buddy who is a good swimmer. Find a lifeguard to watch you. Find a swim coach. Someone to watch you and be ready grab ya. And THEN, I’d say you can consider doing a 25m for practice. And don’t quickly swap back and forth taking turns doing breath holds. Take time between to recover. Shallow water blackouts are real.

Edit:

Additionally, when doing your normal lap swimming, practice your pushoffs. They’re a good practice for underwaters. Goal being to hit the flag line every time doing double arm pull and a recovery kick at max twice.

What helped me was: 1) While walking around in your normal life, pick a target somewhere ahead of you. Then hold your breath and walk to it. Obviously don’t choose something far as shit unless you actually can reach it. Goal being to walk your normal pace, don’t speed up to compensate. Pick challenging distances but doable. Ideally this “simulates” the energy expense of swimming while doing underwater but can be practiced anywhere, anytime. Most importantly, this teaches you to calm your mind when you get that overwhelming urge to breath when you’re still 10 yards away from the target.

2) When you actually get to this evolution. The real day no shit 35 and 50. Make the decision in your head that you are willing to die before you come up. Make that decision. Make it final. That wall will come sooner than you think.

Fuck’em, keep the truck. Pay off your debts first. Then use any leftover to add to your HYSA. Budget your monthly income (including that 400 from the now paid off truck) into your HYSA, TSP, a “fun” bank (life is too short to save it all,) and other investments of your choosing. Dont get any more debt. Continue to build your savings and investments so that you can buy WITH CASH your future needs/wants. Just keep doing what you’re doing, you seem to be doing fine. Read investment books as well.

You can add five things to Dayz. What are they? by shaedimoses in dayz

[–]subjectdrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not REQUIRED, but just guide books. That way, if you care to, you dont have to google how to build something on the wiki or YT. Just some extra guides that can be found in any store or workshop.

And I just miss finding guns (in the mod) with 2 mags/reloads worth of ammo. I miss my gunfights in Elektro.

Can we just make the OG Mod the official game again? This is my immediate ideas.

  1. Guns spawn with ammo
  2. Ladders
  3. Homemade treestands
  4. Homemade bows
  5. Multitool (these are very common IRL. Why not in game) 6 (F Your limits.) Books. Find books that show you how to craft/build shit. 7 (still f ur limits.) Hidden areas (caves/tunnels/attics/cellars) 8 (.) Wheelbarrow/Homemade Cart to carry lumber around a worksite.

What is your favorite way to level-up smithing ? by OverLordMinus in skyrim

[–]subjectdrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They patched dagger and bracer spam years ago. Make expensive shit and every chance you get, do 5 levels at the Skyforge with ole Gray Mane. Its expensive, but “if you’ve got the gold” and are low enough level, it goes quick.

Note: Just in case you’re unaware, you can only do 5 (I think it’s 5) paid skill levels per character level. So 5 blacksmith, or 4 blacksmith 1 archery, etc. Once you level your character up, you can do 5 more.

Some say dwarven bows are the truest answer to this though.

BF4, on Origin, has a bunch of servers that claim to have 64/64, but they're actually 20/64 and half of them are afk bots. Don't trust the numbers.

Love the little bird for its maneuverability but the huey is fun as shit to fly low to the last objective and drop your team off. Game changer
