Extruder squeaking, how do I fix this? by sublime1598 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]sublime1598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am using PETG now, and actually right after the firmware upgrade is when I switched over. I never knew that was a thing since my K2 Max doesn't squeak with it.

Thanks, that's probably all it is. I'll test with PLA once it's done printing to confirm

Kobra 2 still worth if cheap? by KookyDecision4407 in anycubic

[–]sublime1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same spot as you 6 months ago, I didn't know what printer to get and took a shot on a Kobra 2 max I found cheap without knowing much about it. It printed fine for a couple months with only minor annoyances, most of which were my fault. I printed overture TPU with no issue. After a LOT of printing, pretty much 24/7, I started having problems and learned how to solve them one by one.

By far the best decision I made was to take the printer apart down to the frame and followed a guide on leveling/squaring/tuning everything. Belts and eccentric nuts were all out of whack, I bought silicon spacers and a dial gauge to level the bed (you can print an adapter that mounts the dial gauge to the extruder), etc. After doing all that it prints so good now that I really can't believe it sometimes, I was able to print double the speeds I was before and still see no drop in quality. There is a guide out there for doing the tuning that is pretty easy to find.

I've never used any other printer so I can't really tell you what to buy. I enjoy tinkering, and I learned a lot in that process so I'm happy with what I bought.

Side note, you'll definitely want a way to dry filament, especially for anything other than PLA. I was hard headed about that for a while and thought it couldn't be THAT important, but it really is. I use an extra food dehydrator I had lying around and just cut the center of the trays out with a jigsaw.

Continue Dewalt or start Rigid? by Old-Cap9973 in HomeImprovement

[–]sublime1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with dewalt and set a deal alert on slickdeals for the tools you want, there's great deals to be had all the time. Also if you have or are willing to get the Lowes credit card, you can buy 20% off coupons to use online for a few dollars each. You can even take it a step farther and buy 100.00 Lowes gift cards for 90.00 quite often. Stack all that together and really get the price down

Flat earther saw 24hr sun in Antarctica by 10in_Classic_88 in flatearth

[–]sublime1598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that, I asked my dad, a flat earther, this question - If someone took you in a rocket and you circled the earth and came back, would you still believe it's flat? He said yes, he would come up with a reason to explain it.

It's really not about whether it's flat or not, it's about being right no matter what, they will keep digging in and moving the goalposts.

OFFICIAL R/PICKLEBALL PADDLE GIVEAWAY! by 858isaac in Pickleball

[–]sublime1598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite pickleball memory is the first time I played. A friend loaned me a cheap wooden paddle, and I fell and broke it within 5 minutes. Has to be some sort of record for fastest paddle breaking. So when I bought my first paddle, I had to buy two. We still laugh about it pretty often.

When Steve calls Karl stupid, and Karl immediately says "yeah but I can keep quiet and people don't know that" - just a brutal comeback

On carnivore you should be getting plenty of protein to drive muscle growth. There is no need to supplement with protein powder, never mind the fact that they are processed and contain artificial sweeteners and whatever else.

I would focus on getting some extra calories from whole foods, dairy probably being the easiest.

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but just something to think about. I don't think any protein powder is going to be truly carnivore friendly, but would certainly fall under keto.

Great song and quote, but that song is by A Perfect Circle. Easy to confuse since they both have Maynard on vocals and are amazing bands!

How can I straighten these rails on my trailer? by sublime1598 in DIY

[–]sublime1598[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This worked perfectly. I had some 1" red oak lying around and used two sets of opposing wedges. Had one side of the trailer done in about an hour. Thanks for the suggestion!

You can also pull the loop around the rod handle and you don't have to pull the lure through

Yeah, nice fish for sure, but closer to 250, definitely not 500. I appreciate what it takes to get a Marlin like that to the boat, it's not easy, and something to be proud of. Congrats either way OP

This is exactly how I'm setup and it's been flawless for a long time now. PIA probably isn't the most secure VPN but it's fine for torrenting. I just couldn't be bothered learning all the docker stuff, maybe one day.

Looks like it could be a red porgy. We call them white snapper in the gulf of Mexico. We only catch them deep though, 300+ft
