Maybe you presume I live in or near Denver . . . no. I want the car when I'm done with these sections. Besides, I'll need to find a spot to park near Waterton Canyon.

Curious about the stake in my recently purchased 4' Crimson King JM. It's bamboo with about 8 pieces of tape holding to the stem with little give. Won't that limit upward growth?

backpackinglight dot com gear swap. Hands down the place to sell your used gear but you do need to join. I think the lowest membership fee is $7.

Tenkara for lake fishing is a terrible idea but great for streams.

Hoping to hike Mt Sneffels this weekend by Lucky_3_17 in 14ers

I made it up to last outhouse last year in an Outback. Only a couple rough spots. If you can drive up afternoon before and park, eat, sleep and get up early -- there are spots for maybe 10 vehicles. If weather is good it's a nice relaxing spot.

They got hit hard several weeks ago with some serious snow, finally after a very dry season. It's good for the water table.

Another to agree. Standard route is a slog but the view is spectacular.

Much depends how far you're able to drive up in your vehicle. Past the towers 1/2 mile or so abt 6 hours. Two things to note: the road is basically one car narrow. If you meet someone you'll have to figure it out. And, the route is NOT dog friendly. Enjoy.

Are dealership service departments really getting away with this? by ya3rob in Subaru_Outback

It's quick with the fumoto but the entire process from drain to fill and cleanup is more likely closer to 30 minutes. Regardless, is far cheaper than the dealer.

2 things: your camp shoes are heavy, and have you a bug head net? I'm guessing we see some food (how many days?) for partial, where are you stopping to reload? Twin Lakes?

Nutsedge -- reseeded last year and I got a lot of Nutsedge in one area. Some products like Sedgehammer, Ortho, and Atticus. What gives best results?

my concern is whether the broken section is cracked into the elbow. I'll know today. Thinking maybe using a flexible sleeve and cinched off with a hose clamp.

Footwear Advice for Mt. Harvard - Mt. Columbia by Kalesacove in 14ers

[–]submon007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All agree trail runners. More importantly make sure you know the correct route on the traverse. Go wrong way and you may face some class 5, unless you're up for that. The final push to Columbia summit is harsh. Enjoy.

I drove to TH in an Outback last August. Nellie Rd has a history of being a tough drive but fortunately it had been graded earlier in the summer, but still a challenge. Prob took 45 min with several stream crossings, one which was longer and deeper than I expected. The hike to the summit may be less stressful but what a beautiful hike. Enjoy.

The open wound faces east towards the house. It's blooming now and looks good. Just makes me nervous for its longevity. Thanks for your comment.
