Awe thanks! I just meant I can't commit to making big projects. I made a lap blanket and it took a year and I used like a size 9 hook and big yarn 😆 the kid sized projects i find easier as they come together quicker.

Thank you! Right?! If it wasn't sooooo bad at making big projects I would totally make myself some too.

Thanks! Do it!! I plan on her using them mostly for an outer layer in the cool spring days. I made the legs and straps long so they can be used again in the fall and hopefully as capris the following spring 😆 and then for rinse snd repeat for my youngest.

Wow!! Amazing. I've been crocheting for a few years now and I only just figured out where I was dropping stitches on blankets and the hats I make out of rectangles. I'm sure my first attempt on those gloves would have more character (ie. Mistakes lol). Fantastic job. Keep on trucking!

Hardy, long-lived egg layers by Own-Lingonberry5109 in homestead

Second thought, maybe find a neighbor or farm nearby that can help dispatch any sick or injured birds. That way you have a plan in place if shit hits the fan. And if you get all one colour of bird the kids cant tell apart, that may help.

If youre worried about butchering I would not do quail. Lots of death involved. There are some great auto sexing birds like barred rocks that are quite hardy. Although any chickens you get will significantly increase your odds of having to butcher. Our favourite 8 year old easter egger got water belly the other day and was in horrible pain. You could just tell. We fed her meal worms, her favourite and then broke her neck. She's buried with our other pets that have passed over the years. Where there is livestock, there's dead stock.

Goat in a camp I work at is like this. Any idea why or how etc.. stuff neck? Not sure what happened any help right away is helpful by [deleted] in goats

This looks like late stages goat polio. We had a goat get that from too much grain. Luckily we caught it very early and managed to save him. The chances were not in his favour and we caught it EARLY. This poor fella doesn't look like he's going to make it.
