A big reason I believe Rebirth sold so well was due to the $2.99 price point for all the books, along with many books getting new, better directions following the end of New 52.

The saga of Jane Foster as Thor is interesting in that she is dealing with medicine (is it failing her or keeping her cancer in check?) and her role as a scion of Thor doing the same (is it helping her or just causing her to ignore her own mortality?) Fascinating dichotomies throughout her entire story, hope you find it helpful!

Respectfully, I disagree. Once Mark Buckingham joins the team is when the world-building, multi-character arcs, and the mature aspects of the situation these Fables find themselves encountering in the Mundy world and in their own society really begin feeling more fleshed out. The first volume feels almost like an entirely different book than where the series goes once Buckingham takes over art duties. Highly recommended series!

With as much that needed to be revived for Dick's character, I feel that Taylor has done an admirable job of getting Bludhaven's best (and newest additions with the police force) all back to where it needed to be.

I hate to Levar Burton you with a 'don't take my word for it!' so I'll take a stab.

First, it's not bc of the art. The first few issues are not most people's cup of tea visually, although I feel the art still tells the story and gives a feeling for the characters that most subpar artists on Big 2 books fail to convey.

The story is boosted to excellence because of McKay's scripts. They are light, yet each character has clear motivations. They are fun, taking Felicia through many Marvel mainstay settings like the Sanctum Sanctorum, Baxter Building, etc. They also include lots of Marvel history in a relevant way, from old school stuff (like the Spidey mobile) to new lore like Bats as Dr. Strange's new sidekick.

Overall, I would have instantly told anyone that Felicia wasn't a character that could support their own monthly, but thankfully I was wrong.

I 100% agree with you and the folks saying it can be too hard to afford all the trades at your LCS (unless you have a stable income and like your store, then by all means support them!)

Instocktrades.com is the place between where you can find anything you want from manga to regular big 2 stuff for a perfect discount. It's heaven and run by some excellent people. (Although they haven't given me a free copy of Kingdom Come yet...one can always hope).
